Crowds on low/medium take away the atmosphere

Postby timetravelprimer on Mon Oct 13, 2014 10:59 pm

Have you noticed that arenas look depleted right from the start? That should be the case when your team is getting its ass kicked, not in the middle of playoffs.

I can take low textures but not empty seats. That just denying what they hoped to improve - atmospehere. I hope that our modding community will take notice of this huge problem.

I guess that's to lower polygon count. In past games lowering crowd details would replace "triangle heads" with sprites.

Yes they need to fix this. Medium crowds should be close to last gen.
Specs: Ryzen 3600. GTX 1070 Ti. 16gb RAM.

Huh. I was wondering why there were hardly any people in the crowd. I just assumed it was because it was an exhibition game.

Fans leaving the stadium early if the home team is being blown out in the 4th would a cool feature. (I'm assuming this hasn't been implemented yet--should post this in the wishlist thread haha)

the stands do fill up more a few minutes in to the game. It also depends a lot on the stadium. If you do a quick game between the Heat and Spurs, the stands are pretty full right away even right after tip off (on medium).
Some stadiums though, like Utah, look pretty empty on medium.

Set those (crowds) to high. See if it changes anything.

I think that's the point though. High looks great... but when you turn it down to medium all it does is just remove people from the crowd. It should be reducing the visual quality of the crowd (poly count, textures, etc) not just remove people.

IMO they really cheaped out on the PC graphics settings this year. Seems rushed. There aren't' nearly enough options for PC users. The crowd is just one example. The most glaring one is "special effects". There are so many things lumped in with special effects (reflections, flash bulbs, depth of field, etc...) it seems silly that it is just one option for all of those.

Hopefully someone can mod some of this stuff.

Nope, actually on low crowd here and by the start of game you have the Heat 2014 parade (Some at front, almost none at back). And when my team get a blowout, it's turn to Death Space with just some "Zombie" left around. Worst of the worst, those Zombie is still to much for my old horse and it's still lagging like a DJ scratching the disc.
Just back for NBA 2k14 for 1 fun game and with max setting, playoff, it still run like Usalt Bolt (Really miss those crowd cheering :( )
