For everyone who has requested my help via pm I will try to finish up whatever i said i would help with over the next 2 days. I have recieved many request for assistance and help with tools and files. Sorry if i haven't communicated this. For some reason there are only a few people with paid red mc trying to help many people who don't have.iff or other licenses.

Also guys dont forget to use the free modding tools. I mostly use red mc.iff capabilities because it makes hex editing very quick in comparison to parsing through entire files to find and edit hex values.

There is only one texture that will show for both left and right shoe.

I'm almost done with identifying low-mid-high tops.

I need someone to convert over 400 shoes. Few of them are 128x128. These are compilation of default 06 shoes, various conversions of patchers and my own work.

If I put +400 shoes there, you will open 270 of them with DOLFFIN or FshX. I'm too lazy to extract each of the textures inside.
Rest of them will be already png files.

I'll also include a xls file that includes shoe data info

Uhhh... 400. Which means alot of converting, creating normal maps, alpha layers, preview photos for shoe selection screen, give each shoe a unique shoe id, and then hex editing... Whew!

Idk what to say. Exciting and intimidating. I'm not sure how to respond. 2k17 does come out next month I'm sure these threads will die for a few weeks around that time. I'm scratching my head on this.

Actually total count is not 400. Some shoes have more colorways, even some of them have +10.

In the end, this section of Forum will survive for at least 2-3 years.

See how NBA Live 08 section survived after 2008.

I can help you on creating textures if someone sends me 3D models for each top type (low-mid-high), and a base texture/template (psd) for shoes.

There are already high top shoe models. Most of the previews shown in this thread are hightops. I think you want to see the "Super" high top shoes like the Kobe models sometimes have.
That is all dependent on the global that you are using. I'm not interesting in making globals. There are plenty out there on the internet and anyone can make the really high cut shoes using the 2kx modding to import/ export 3d models and blender.

I only meant the 2k14 section would die for the first few weeks of 2k17 while people are trying out all the new stuff.
Multiple colorways ... ok that is good to know.

I converted AND 1 SkiptoMyLou to a mid top shoe. I had to make the texture 256 X 256 but the game's default is 128 X 256 for the shoe texture and 256 x 256 for the bump map. I will try to hex edit the iff file to allow 256 x 256 size texture for shoe texture. see below

If you have the game then you can just extract the body model from the global file and get the shoe model from that 3d file.... nvm.
3D shoe file for blender is now attached below (you must be logged in to download the file)

You don't need the 3d model to convert, you can also use below templates

I don't know what to say other than I'm so hyped. Shoes have been one of my biggest issues with 2K since around 2k12 when they removed the option to set different home/Away shoes, all in the player edit menu.

I created the and1 skip 2 my lou mid in team colors also. I figured out that team color shoes must only contain rgb Red,rgb Blue, rgb green, yellow, cyan, magenta, or black.A color/ texture will be assigned based on each shoes hex code in shoe global file.

Shoe vault V3 coming soon will include zhet123's latest shoes and some team shoes.

TGsoGood, fwiw I think you can assign black to rgb shoes just make sure none lf the RGB alpha layers are filled. Also different shades of rgb will show up properly darked/lighter, etc. (Y)

You are correct but the above only applies when you save the shoe texture as dxt 5.dds. For these types of shoes you must assign to players through red mc. If you try to assign through in game system they will not look the same.


I was refferring to rgba dds files. If you open up one of the original shoe files that comes with 2k14 u will notice all shoes that show up as team colors, work as i have decribed in my previous post because game assigns both texture and team colors based rgb/ cmyk colors and hex code. Its hard to explain but take a look at the original shoe textures that come w/ 2k14 and u will see they are almost all rgba.dds and they do not contain a lot of red green or blue. I have studied the architecture of these shoe files for many days and hours trying to understand how to properly implement shoes as a 2k dev would have. My coding knowledge is not great but I was able to figure out the team color aspect.

But again,you are correct for dxt5.dds file.

What makes this mod “sim”? Here are a few of the features that set this project apart from all others:

- Every art file (jerseys, arenas, cyberfaces, accessories, courts, dornas (advertisement at half court), etc is realistic and none will crash game play
- There is no missing art file in the entire project

Every player in every roster has:
- Accurate statistical ratings and tendencies to work with 2k's simulation engine while still providing realistic game play
- Realistic ratings and tendencies that affect game play but not the simulation engine ie dribbling, athletic ratings, post tendencies, etc.
- Realistic physical attributes that decrease after major injuries or as the player gets older
- Accurate play types
- Accurate contracts

- Accurately updated Coaching profiles and playbooks

- Draft classes that have realistic player information for every player

- A few slider sets designed to be a base for realistic game play
