I will check these out. Need to step away from the computer for a while, been trying to get this to work for season mode for 8+ hours :wall: .

I'm almost positive that this needs to happen...
- Alphabetize Teams in Teams Tab
- Make sure teams in Slots 0 - 29 are set to Team Type '0' (Regular NBA), and use the default GIDs from the NBA (0 through 031? Leave out the All-Star teams, whatever they are, I think 7 & 30? -- check a default NBA roster)
- Make sure all teams NOT in Slots 0 - 29 are set to Team Type '3' (CAT)
- Make sure Divisions have appropriate # of teams aligned with default NBA

I believe those were the things that HAWK edited in the MM2K14 roster that finally got it to work in Association Mode. As I said previously, it's a real pain to have to re-name the team.iff files, but I believe those criterion need to be met in order for it to work.

Thanks, I have tried some of these, but:

If I alphabetize the teams all the good teams won't be playable in season. (which is why I re-ordered the MM2k14 roster and teams were not aplhabetized, but in the 0-29 slots)

I'll try the GID ordering, but then won't I have to change the jersey tab too, and teams that are utilizing those default GIDs already will have to be changed to other GIDs? ( when I set team type to 3 it used the GIDs for the teams I wanted to add, like texas was 70 and they worked in season mode.)

I'll try the team type 0 and 3, though this was not needed when I reordered the MM2k14 roster, I set teams with non-default GIDs to 3 and they worked.

Divisions are good, that was the first thing I checked.

Maybe the MM2k14 roster was just a coincidence that I got it to work, but look at it, here is what I did and it works, which is what makes why this one won't all the more confusing.

Unfortunately I might not have a choice but to order it like you said, but it would be shame not to have teams like Wisconsin, Utah etc usable, but perhaps these are the limitations.

Now I was able to add in a custom team into season mode with mm2k14 roster last year. You have to setup customize league in the season setup and seems like as long as the team had a certain number assigned it would allow you to add them and customize them how each user wanted.
Would it not be something like Jaosming is doing in this video?

Try this out... http://www.mediafire.com/download/4h9sa ... _ASSOC.ROS

The logos and maybe jerseys, and crowds will be off, but I just adjusted all the GIDs and orders, to see if it would work. Try out customized leagues, too.

That stuff can always be renamed. Trying this and checking out those menus now.

I also ditched the 4-digit GIDs (I know they used them in 2K13, but that was not Association/Season Friendly, I believe), in favor of other unused 3-digit ones.

If it works, I have a log of all the GID changes.

Re: MARCH MADNESS 2K15 -- Early W.I.P. -- Calling all Modders!

Unfortunately still crashing at the same point. Do we know what GIDs are available for teams? I think that is the issue. I proved it will work with teams not in alphabetical ordeflawlesslynd with GIDs not 0-29. I think it has something to do with teams being designated GIDs and the GIDs I'm using aren't for teams and that is why they won't work in association/season. I'll have too look at the original roster and use GIDs from real teams in the game rather than just making a GID because it was the same number as the logo I used.

If the first roster I released using all the MM2K14 teams reordered didn't work than I would know we have to do the alphabetical, 0-29, team type 0, but since that roster worked flawlessly breaking all those rules it has to be something with the GIDs I'm using.

Does anyone know if there are GIDs that can and can't be used ?.Are they arbitrary? Do they all exist when created? Or if your referencing GID 81 and the game says, I don't have a GID 81 and crashes.

Bigh0rt, did you overwrite teams that already had GIDs? Or did you create GIDS and they worked ?

Just wanna play the damn game....lol.

droc,

By trial and error I also got the mm2k14 to work in season mode last year after changing teams. I do not have the red mc so I did it in-game, so I did nothing with GID's etc.

The thing I noticed when doing this in game is that the game defaults all the teams in each division alphabetically by team name (in NBA mode). So when I switched teams for the NCAA mode, I made sure I had each division listed alphabetically by the team names before I proceeded to the next step to start a season and it worked.

Like you that may have just been a coincidence that it worked for me to save a reordered season, but it is a suggestion to see if it will work again using mm2k15 roster. I haven't tried yet as I was awaiting the update roster with big's edits etc. It may be easier to do with the red mc than in-game for you anyway.

Hope this helps.

Update:

I just tried to setup a season in-game with the mm2k15 roster and the divisions were incomplete. Only one division had five teams. Some only listed three.
I attempted to fill an empty slot and the game crashed. it appears that the game is not recognizing all the teams for a season mode by the fact that there were empty slots in each division. This may coincide with the GID thing you are attempting to work out.

Another suggestion is that the original NBA game defaults alphabetically by team name, not city/state. Reordering the teams that way instead of A-Z by school name may help with the GID situation. Just a thought to try and help get the roster to match the default game to hopefully work in NCAA mode.

Hope this helps also.

reme, the released roster is for quick play only, it definitely will not work with season mode. (I don't want you to waste your time with this roster).

Thanks for the team names hint, I looked at the default nba roster and it was set up exactly like you said. I put the 30 teams I want in association mode, alphabetized (there's 52) and it still crashed. I changed the GIDs of the teams that had 4 digit GIDs to teams that were in the game (582, 583, 584, 585,586, 588,589 and 590) and changed those classic teams I poached GIDs from to 605-611. Also changed the jerseys to coincide with the changes. I found a couple multiple GIDs assigned to a couple teams, I fixed this so there are no duplicate GIDs.

And it still crashed. I did not number the teams in the some _ Id 1 slot like I did in MM2K14. Gonna try that tomorrow. I can send you the season roster I'm working on, I can always use input. Want to finish this and relax and enjoy the game.

droc81yo, shoot HAWK23 a PM, with a link to the roster, and see if he could take a look and see why it won't work in Season/Association Mode. He was incredibly helpful last year after I and others spent hours and hours trying to figure it out, and fixed everything in a very short while, knowing exactly what the issue(s) was/were.

Getting rid of duplicate GIDs is a definite necessity. I didn't realize there were duplicates in there. I think only using GIDs that are present in the default 2K is a good idea, especially since we have yet to surpass the number of teams in the default game; there's no reason not to, just to be on the safe side.

Try changing the Division of all the non-30 original GIDs to '7' (Other) too.

I also noticed, when looking at Arizona, as an example, that you have them listed as having 13 Players, but then have 14 players listed. This could also present crashing issues, I believe. The number of players listed must, to my knowledge, match the number shown.

Droc,
I've been trying the same thing as reme. Working in the customized season mode. Yes, a lot of the divisions do not have teams and have successfully been able to switch in and out teams freely. Not exactly sure if it is a GID issue because I can add any team I wanted from the customize league screen that already had a team in that spot. Now if i try to add any team to a blank spot then it will crash immediately. I have tested with bighorts test roster also and can move any team i want but it crashes after the conformation of team selection. Assuming it would do this also in your roster with all the teams filling the empty slots.

I'm going to go back and play around with the older roster you posted back on page 2. I know it worked. Gonna see if there is any correlation between the two.

If you need me to test anything I can. I have a lot of time at my desk during the day.

Re: MARCH MADNESS 2K15 -- Early W.I.P. -- Calling all Modders!

I looked at what Bighort was talking about with the team player number. Noticed that a lot of teams have player number 1 where it should be -1. So it is activating an extra slot and adding a duplicate player to that team. I dont have access to the teams tabs to change this or test it but that could be an issue with Quinn Cook being added to multiple teams. Look at Colorado state for example. Shows 11 players on the team but has 1's in the last two spots instead of -1. So this is adding Quinn Cook twice to that team. It is the same with Bighorts test roster. Don't know for sure if that is what is causing the issue but maybe.

Something else might be a schedule conflict. Your old roster has teams 30, 31, 32, and 33 ad the All star teams. These have scheduled games at the end of each season. Just another guess. Dont know for sure.

Droc,

Thanks for the heads up about trying with the quick play roster. That explains the empty slots.

I'm not sure if the teams themselves in the main selection menu (quick game) need to be alphabetized by team name, even though they are in the nba defaults. The mm2k14 was listed alphabetically by school name and it worked for me last year. I made the sure the teams in each division in the season mode setup were alphabetized by team name like the nba default when I finally did get it to work though.

JBG, fyi: my issue was also with the empty slots trying to fill them, not the filled spots to change teams. droc's info explains what that problem was.

Yes, send me the roster you are working with droc, I'll gladly try things with it for season mode to see if I can get it to work.

Re: MARCH MADNESS 2K15 -- Early W.I.P. -- Calling all Modders!

I believe that GIDs 7 and 31 are the All-Star teams in the original .ROS (at work, so can't confirm), so I always avoided using those (as well as GIDs for the other special teams from Blacktop, Rising Stars, etc.). I don't know if it's necessary, but I like to be cautious, and rather be safe than sorry. I think once we sort out the GIDs, the Quinn Cooks, the Divisions, etc. we should be able to do both a regular and Customized Season, where we place any of the CAT designated teams into the league, etc. May take a little tweaking, but I think we'll be able to get it done. Copy and paste from another cell, at least that is what works in the players tab.

If you use MyFriend (I think it's called? On the right hand side), you can use the scrollbar to get to the very top of the list, which is something like *Not Applicable* or something like that. I generall just type * and it auto-fills to the top and I select it.

Big,

I checked for you since you are in work. The ASG jersey number slots are 7 & 30 for the default nba. 31 is for the Cha bobcats. So I assume they are the same for the team GID's.

Will try to setup season mode and post results.

Update:

I tried an in-game season setup and changed only (1) team to test. reordered that division alphabetically and game crashed when I hit enter to proceed.

Did exact same thing in association mode changing (1) team (same team) and it did not crash when I hit enter to continue. It let me proceed to the asgn roles screen but when I hit enter to proceed to start the association, it crashed at that point.

Based on the fact that it did not crash after changing teams, it appears that there is a problem somewhere in the team rosters, as that is the point where it crashed for association mode.

One of the prior posts suggested issues with the number of players listed for teams and duplicate players. That may be the crash issue, not changing teams.

Season mode does not take you to the assign role screen, it just goes right to the season start screen after you proceed, so the crash in season mode may be because of the rosters also, not because of the team changes.

Hope this helps.

All division slots are filled correctly but still crashes after conformation of team select. Also tried switching out teams that had a 1 instead of a -1 for extra players and still had an issue. So that might rule out that theory.

Update 2:

Tried association mode again changing only (1) team. did not crash as before after proceeding. Checked at assign roles screen. Duke only has (11) players on the roster. (12) players are needed in association and season modes. game crashed when I proceeded from asgn role screen (did not change any roles btw, just proceeded from that section)

tried again for association replacing duke with ucla (made it easier using a team starting with "b" to reorder) They have the required number of players. Game crashed after asgn role screen again.

Next thought for season/association mode is the F/A list only has (2) players. there may be a required number of F/A's needed for season/association mode that could be the issue. Update: ( I just checked the mm2k14 roster and there are no F/A's, so this probably is not an issue)

One thing for sure so far is, I am able to change teams and advance without crashing in association mode.
