awesome discovery! can you check if this works with the default global just to see if it works without your player shine hex edit?
Sun Nov 11, 2012 5:32 am
Very interesting, they do need to me toned down like you said, looks like the sun is shining on them.

the lighting looking good with the default global. Since this works with the default global, IMO we dont need the player shine hex since that makes the players look nice but a bit plastic during gameplay. Great work, Ive been waiting for something like this ever since johndoe change the lighting of players for 2k11!

Looking real good tatlopuyo eagerly awaiting release.
Any chance we could get a option of your global with the new player lighting with just the default global like the screen shots you posted?

looks good! i still like the hexed version better, did you try this with sj1414 newest global?

With SJ's, are you making sure the black faces fix you seemed to have sorted out is done, becuase I posted in that thread some faces still have shaded instead of pure black face errors. Plus his version messes with white players and is making them look dead/grey.
Sj's with black face fix, your lighting additions & also the removal of Sj's white players "dead zombie no color" look would be the ultimate, or should I say Sj's with your own white players look (which I think is just default global anyway IE they are more pink/white than grey/dead).
That coupled with global default and your lighting would probably be the final of all finals

I think the lighting still needs to be toned down. Looks weird to me with those white spots on them.

As its test I admit also that it looks like directional light fixed per player as if they have a directed lamp to each player, so it should be balanced a little to show but still seem like sweat shine.

yeah its like that...its somewhat like a light reflection on the body of players..it adds a glass like effect when theres sweat..its pretty good actually in moving objects like theres a spotlight on players..it adds more life to the player models that sometimes it feels like the models are real already with a quick look but when u r just taking photos sometimes it looks bad..

I really want to test it which is default global with your new lighting effect

, or I hope you can combine all of them for your next version. I would like to remind you that you should add your ball shadow, warm-ups with shadowing and sweat or shine effect on blacktop mode for your next version.

I love it on the default global. Very nice indeed.

Personally as long as it does what's intended and adds some more life to the overall game playing image I can dispel some simulation reality. Just as long as its not "super plastic shiney" and fits in with sweat mainly.

Nice find, tatlopuyo.
I wonder if there's a way to rotate that light so that it's casting light underneath the players instead of on their sides. That way, you could fake the way
light from the court bounces back onto the players, like you see in reality.
