NBA Today's inconsistent updates are no way to welcome back the NBA. It's a good mode but not if games aren't updated on a regular schedule. It also loses something if rosters aren't updated so that recently returned players, like Bynum, play in the NBA Today games. It's "neato" to play certain games on a night when they were just played, or in the afternoon before they will be played in the real NBA. But on some days the NBA Today games don't update. NBA Today either skipped Monday Jan 2 or made it available for such a short amount of time that it was essentially skipped.

It would be nice to welcome PC users to the new year by providing some kind of update on the patch. Is it in the works, not yet started, close to completion, or in the hands of alternate dimensional developers?

It seems like it's another area of the game's online content where they dropped the ball. As you said, features like NBA Today (or NBA Live's similar mode, Dynamic Season) are fun ideas, but not when they're malfunctioning like this. I'm guessing it has something to do with the update for the lockout shortened schedule, had the season started on time and the game continued to use the default schedule for NBA Today it might've worked properly. That's not an excuse of course, just speculation as it seemed to be working alright before the new 66 game schedule came out. Weird, and definitely in need of a further update.

Speaking of the PC update, no timetable or further info as yet. I'd still guess end of January, early February at the earliest, with all the fixes that have been listed for the console updates to date (since the PC patch will apparently be a combined update).
