Does "My Player Mode" get harder as you advance?

Postby JWL3 on Wed Dec 14, 2011 5:36 pm

Right now, I'm a rating 64 player going into my 13th game of the rookie season and I'm averaging 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, .5 blocks as a SG. Also a B- rating. I'm worried about advancing my attributes cause I'm afraid the difficulty level will kick up to a higher notch. (Basically, I'm trying to up any skills that have a low skill point cost which I assume brings your overall rating a lot higher a lot quicker.)

Also,

1) any recommendations on strategy of selecting categories to improve?
2) if you play an entire career, will you ultimately be able to max out your player to 99 for all attributes, or do you have to choose what you want to excel in?

No it gets easier. because you will be able to pull off moves, make buckets, have more luck due to higher ratings.
The only time the gameplay gets tougher is during playoffs. The CPU will pull a lot of comebacks so be ready

Thanks. Is it me or is averaging anything over 10 ppg really hard the first 15 games of the season? Any tips on how to max out my player as quickly as possible?

Also, will I be able to max out my player during his career (99 for all attributes) or will I still have to pick and choose? C'mon people. 102 views and 1 response?

Depending on how you upgrade your player, it may get harder or easier. I was knocking down 6-8 3's per game, then I upgraded my 3pt rating or something and was tossing up bricks. I think it gets a bit easier. The first few games you really have to find what you and your player can really do on both sides of the court, and stick with those. Once you get yourself an offensive weapon, you can go to it more often than not and be successful. If you want to max out your player quickly, play 12 minute games so you can get more stats and more skill points.

You cant have 99 for all attributes. Your player will max out at a certain number on a given skillset depending on ur position, height and playstyle.

But when if u mean technically maxing out all ur attributes (u reach highest attainable number rating on every skillset, or close to it id assume) then ur overall rating will show 99 regardless of some of ur ratings not being 99.... but being maxed out nonethless.

Try to improve ur ratings based on what position you have chosen, and also how you personally like to play..If you like to do quick crossovers and take the mid range jumper a lot...then upgrade ur midrange and ballhandling, ball security, shoot under pressure etc... if you have a tendency to want to take it to the rim a lot then upgrade those specific attributes which will help u be stronger at it. How u tend to think as a bball player is how u should pursue ur attribute upgrades because there is no point trying to do Post up moves a lot while u arent spending points to uupgrade it......
sorry for crappy grammar feeling very lazy

Uggh. I have a 6' 9" shooting guard slower than Greg Ostertag whose only offensive weapon is posting up smaller guards and doing nasty spin-post moves. And I chose a slasher! Can't cross anyone over. I seem to be able to rebound fairly well. It's a bit of a chore to play but I'm really hoping that the guy will become much more agile and speedy as I progress. As it is, he's lumbering around right now.

I'm 68 SG and I'm shooting like hell right now. 50+ pts every game.-.-

They're not defending me outside the three point line.

Isn't that odd? I make more 3pters with a low rating than a high rating because they back off and you get all that space.

My 3pt skills is 79 I think.

I dunno. But in transition, they're not defending me at all, they keep going to the paint, all of them.

There's obviously more bugs, otherwise how could anybody explain Boston starting an Association season 24-0? :P
