Need help w/ hair

Postby wtferrell on Fri Oct 21, 2011 9:26 am

Hey guys, as some of you all know I've been working on Nick Young using Andre Miller's headshape. One of the big problems is that Andre Miller's forehead is WAY too long. One thing I was going to do is to bring the hairline down on the Nick Young CF Texture. When I do this however, in game the hair color (which is black in photoshop) has too much of a glare to it, and is more of a gray color. The afro portion is pitch black, but the CF texture part is a darker gray, a BIG difference.

Thoughts on how to make the black, actually black? I'm guessing I'm going to have to use a global that doesn't have ANY sweat, which I'm thinking is the culprit.

that, the alpha layer of the CF texture may do that as well.
Opinions are my own.

I went through and made that part of the alpha black, so it shouldn't be garnering any light reflection, right? THat's my basic understanding of alphas, etc.

Really frustrating. Word has it that a 3d editor is coming down the pipeline soon, at least to the Chinese community, so hopefully we'll get a good Nick Young Headshape soon enough...
