Benchmark: 135 FPS but still occasional lag

Benchmark: 135 FPS but still occasional lag

Postby Leander on Thu Oct 06, 2011 9:56 am

My computer is good enough to play the latest games maxed out...during the benchmark mode I get 135 FPS with everything set to high, 1920x1080, 8xMSAA etc.
However, there is sometimes slight lag during a pass...nosebleeds cam, zoom 10, height 1.

Is there a way to change it? Or is it just a bug and we have to wait for a patch?

It's a flaw in the engine, it's been around forever.

And it's not lag.

This game is not optimized very much. It does not use the full amount of my core2 duo, or my amd 6870. Only the main menus actually get full cpu usage. If I could get full usage, I could be at 60 fps instead of 50. I get some constant frame jumping in instant replay mode when circling the camera around its target, but like leander stated, the actual displayed framerate stays above 50.

Will test it with Fraps how many FPS I get during the game.

My computer:

Intel i5 3,3ghz, 8 GB Ram, Win 7 64bit, Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6870 1 GB.

It is not the best computer but a new one and I can run Dead Space 2, Two Worlds 2, Dirt 3, F1 2011 etc. all maxed out.

Hi!

This same discussion is posted on the steam forums. The only complaint I have heard so far, are from owners of Radeon video cards.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=2158241

Is there someone who has an Nvidia video card with this problem?

My specs:

  • ATI 6850
  • i5 750 @ 2.66 GHz
  • 4 GB RAM
  • Win 7 x64

Greetings!

I had the same problem man, and I solved it by turning off the AA settings in the game and forcing it ON in CCC.

I read on the steam forums about some similar performance issues amd it seems like they all have amd hd radeon cards. Looking at the gpu usage in msi afterburner during gameplay, only 40 percent is being used. When I bring up the menu, it jumps to 100. Its just not pushing my card at all.

The exact opposite happens to me my frame rate is around 20 more in gameplay compared to the benchmark and there is no stutter either
