In other funny news, the #4 pick of 2013 draft (Tracy Lee - Agent420) was traded by Kings straight up for Dorrell Wright

I think that about wraps up the talent level of the 2013 draft pool then?  If not then perhaps Dorrell Wright is the next big thing in the X's virtual world! :P

Definitely speaks for talent of draft class. Wright is a backup in this multiverse.

Is this a mark of Timberwolves first ever Championship?

Image 2012/13 2nd TRIMESTER UPDATE (PART ONE)

As they entered All-Star Weekend, the Minnesota Timberwolves will rue the bitter taste left in their month from their game in Memphis. After trailing by double digits for most of the game, the Wolves pulled it together and made a great fourth quarter run, which was capped by a long Eric Gordon jumper to give Minnesota a 110-109 lead with about 15 seconds to go. Conference rival Memphis held up the ball then gave it to OJ Mayo, who froze rookie Jaime Buford in the mid-post before hitting the jumper to ice the game and a 111-110 win. That loss meant Minnesota finished the second trimester at 34-31 (0.522).

Performance-wise, forward Michael Beasley has stepped up his game to All-Star calibre play in the second trimester and him and shooting guard Eric Gordon have been a great one-two punch. Kevin Love was better in second trimester, but still well off when the Timberwolves need him to be to be successful in the playoffs, provided they get there that is. The rest of the team has had their moments, including backup guard Aaron Afflalo who had 24 points against the Grizzlies and led the comeback on the back of his six treys.

Trade wise, the Wolves finally parted with second year guard Floyd Bradley, who has continued his inconsistent play in Phoenix. They got two first round draft picks in the process, so should be interesting to see if they turn those into useful assets.

As the third and final trimester begins, the Timberwolves hope to finally return to the post-season for the first time since Kevin Garnett starred for them. Look for Jay Triano to possibly promote rookie Buford to the starting lineup and slide Svensson to the bench.

Love was averaging only like 14 & 8 after first trimester so he's moving up slowly, but yep, he's definitely a 3rd banana so far this season :|

Developing? Do mean doing drills? If so, then no. I never do development drills, seems cheese for some reason. I just let game develop them as they will.

Some interesting trades going on, including a big name moving conferences.

Re Wolves, just pondering whether I should accept Sessions & 1st Round pick from Pacers for Rubio since I don't know if Ricky will be my point guard of future. Tough call.

This one is inenvitably going to end soon since all my posted Dynasties/Associations last about 3 seasons since NBA 2k12 will drop in a few weeks. I'll likely finish it up or turn it into a sim Association after the standard playoff coverage is complete.

I anticipate that this will be my swansong as far as posting Associations/Dynasties go since I can't put the sort of time & effort that I would like to as I did with my Live '05 Bobcats one and my Live '06 Blazers one & I'll likely move to the generic "How's your Association going for any updates on any Association/My Player Going?" to do any 2k12 updates, if applicable.

Anyways, a few interesting deadline deals with the Pacers trading away a point guard and adding two more, the Spurs giving up on their dynasty and adding young talent in McGee.
Feb '13: Indiana trades C Javelle McGee to San Antonio for PG Tony Parker
Feb '13: Indiana trades PG T.J. Ford to Brooklyn Nets for C Hasheem Thabeet
Feb '13: Indiana trades PF Lamar Odom and SG Leandro Barbosa to Orlando for PG Jameer Nelson and SG Marc Scott
Feb '13: Dallas trades PF Dirk Nowitzki and SF Alex Cummings to Philadelphia for PG Louis Williams and PF Elton Brand

The most notable deal is Dirk going to Philly. When I saw it & saw the legend wearing #30 for the 76ers, my heart sunk. Never fear though, the German is still looking for his first title & started his Philly career with a 47 point outburst & helped the 76ers lock up home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Perhaps a fairytale is yet to come, we can only hope.

I'll start posting final trimester updates during this week and follow that with end of season player awards and accolades.

Digging updates in any form. Looking forward to seeing the third trimester updates. Will be disappointed if you didn't make the playoffs.

However, given the lockout and the lack of rookies in 2K12, it might be worth sticking with 2K11.

I'm picking 2K12 up for PC this year so the rooks will be unlocked pretty quick. Unfortunately the T'wolves haven't inspired me. Maybe I'll do an off-liner with Nuggets in 2K12 now that their team got sexier with the losses of Felton, Smith & Chandler. I hate overloaded rosters to start with.

I haven't ruled this one out though, perhaps I'll win the title (or not  )

I think they can make a run, possibly meet Heat in conference finals. East is up in the air once again.

Image 2012/13 3rd TRIMESTER UPDATE (PART ONE)

The Minnesota Timberwolves flatlined in the third and final trimester of the season, but fortunately so did their rivals as they stumbled into the final postseason berth with a 40-42 (0.483) record, duplicating their previous season's record. Minnesota will take their league worst defense (along with the second best scoring team in the league) into the league best Los Angeles Lakers' building for its first round matchup. If they can find a way to keep Bynum and Gasol off the boards then they might be able to trouble the Lakers, well at least momentarily.

So the ghost of Kevin Garnett has been vanquished as the Timberwolves once again look to put their stamp on the first round, as they did so many times when KG led them.
