NLSC Rookie Focus!TransactionsJust three minor trades to start the new season and the most ‘interesting’ one has to be the deal between Atlanta and Sacramento. The Kings decided that they didn’t need newly signed forward Marvin Williams after drafting Moses Chara and dealt him back to where he was traded away last season; Atlanta. The Hawks who also just signed Steve Francis in the Summer decided to send him away in exchange for Williams. That’s what we call ‘weird decision making’ and perhaps why these teams are perennial losers (Although Atlanta is doing well in the standings for now).

With Ray Allen in his contract year and his star team mates Garnett and Paul Pierce not getting any younger, the trio figure it’s time to step it up a notch. “There’s no guarantee Ray will be back next season so hopefully if we win, that can be something that helps him make a decision to stick around,” Garnett said.
The Celtics have started the season at the top of the Eastern Conference.

Chara is averaging 26.0 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 9.1 apg, 1.9 spg and shooting at a very efficient rate of .512 from the field; .428 from behind the arc; and .932 from the charity stripe. His only knock is that his team is not performing too well. On the flipside, James is averaging 29.4 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 8.4 apg, and 2.0 spg.
“LeBron is not the MVP,” Chara boldly stated after his recent outing against the San Antonio Spurs in which he scored 33 points in a Kings loss, “I’m only a rookie and I’m still tearing it up. I bet all of you can’t wait for us (Sacramento) to play them (Cleveland).”
LeBron James declined to comment.

Don’t worry Lamar, rest assured that the under-achieving Lakers are struggling right now and missing you too!
