I really hope I didn't have to start against or guard Kevin Durant....now that is suicide if ever I've seen it  like a 7-8 inch height discrepancy, one has freakishly long wingspan, the other whilst not to be confused with a T-Rex does not....what a sorry performance....I've definitely got my work cut out for me at the next level....btw Will, never ever play Durant at SG again....it's just wrong on too many levels :x

P.S. Nice win

Pisses me off man! lol... one game I had open shot with him, miss. Offensive board, kick back out to him. Open. Miss... another offensive board, kick back out to Kidd... finally hits it.

Carmelo was being lazy on that rotation... Denevr could have been playing a zone because you were matched up against Morrison... you were just unlucky. However, consider yourself lucky that Durant didn't dunk on you, he just pulled up for a floater in the lane past you! :) Durant is at SF right now!

Bobcats Win In Low-Scoring Match

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Image
Gerald Wallace hits the first of back to back treys
with 2:33 remaining in the game that help win the game

9 November, 2009

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Stealth had their worst offensive showing in a long time and fell behind quickly; they never recovered. Seattle did not score until three quarters of the way through the first period and allowed Charlotte to build an unassailable 16-2 lead when the Stealth called their second timeout of the game with only 4:15 left in the first quarter.

Gerald Wallace led the Bobcats, who were winless before this game, with 33 points in a scintillating shooting performance. When the Stealth got close to making a comeback in the final quarter, cutting a once double digit lead to just 6 points, Wallace delivered the knockout blow with back to back three pointers from the same spot in the corner of the court. Those two treys allowed Charlotte to take an 81-69 lead with 1:49 left in the game, putting the game out of reach for the home side.

Wallace received plenty of help from his teammates with newly signed PG Devin Harris finishing with a double double of 25 points and 11 assists. The former Dallas and New Jersey guard put together a strong performance as he used his quickness to draw fouls from Seattle’s big men, which resulted in seven trips to the charity stripe and 10 made free throws. “Harris is just so explosive,” Stealth PF David Lee admitted, “He was tough to keep (out of the paint).”

The Bobcats’ ninth pick in the NBA Draft, Mark Moore, also contributed 17 points and 7 assists. The former Arizona Wildcat, who hails from New Zealand, boasted that he had a better game against Seattle than countryman and fellow rookie Andrew Watson of Denver: “X couldn’t hit a shot against the Stealth and you saw me tonight. I’m one up on him.”

The Stealth were led by Kevin Durant’s 22 points while Jason Kidd contributed 13 points and 9 assists. Head Coach George Karl lamented the Stealth’s poor first half to a lack of a second scoring option. “You could see that Kevin was struggling again tonight in the first quarter and we fell behind by a lot. Our team really needs someone to step up, whether it is Adam (Morrison), David (Lee), or anyone else who is willing to take those shots and execute.”

Notes: Seattle were interested in both Watson and Moore but in the end traded up the Draft order in order to select Reshawn Tyson. Tyson finished with 4 points and an assist in tonight’s game… Adam Morrison is apparently unhappy with playing in Seattle, he refused to talk to media after the game tonight; the second time this season… Jamaal Magloire led Seattle with 6 rebounds from off the bench…

What an ugly loss to swallow. This loss came against one of the sucky teams in the NBA. If Stealths can keep the losing streak to 3 at max all the time, they should be fine this year, otherwise, go back to Lotto.

Sorry I haven't checked this in a few weeks. Glad to see its growing strong still. Spent a couple hours catching up on this and loved every bit. Your team is crazy stacked! Forget 41-41, I could see your team going deep in the playoffs!

Looking forward to the next update. I'll be on here more often with my dynasty finally starting. (Y)

Sacramento Surprises Seattle With Comeback Win

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Image
Kevin Martin hits this trey to tie the game at 82-all with 1:12 remaining

19 November, 2009

SEATTLE (AP) – Kevin Martin dug in deep as he scored seven of his career high ten three pointers in the second half to lead the Sacramento Kings back from a 16 point deficit. The Kings trailed midway through the third quarter before Martin knocked down three consecutive triples. He then had two steals in the final 15 seconds of the third period that led to two easy buckets, slicing the Stealth’s lead in half.

“Kevin got hot and got us back in the game,” rookie star Moses Chara said, “I played horribly but Kevin made up for it with his 50 points.” Martin continued with his scoring onslaught and kept hitting big shots down the stretch. Martin hit a jumper with 1:24 remaining before making a big three 10 seconds later, courtesy of a Stealth turnover. Those two shots had the Kings level with Seattle.

Although Martin bailed the team out of a blowout loss, it was Spencer Hawes who sealed the win by hitting the go-ahead bucket with 34 seconds left in the match. David Lee had missed a short hook shot moments beforehand to put Seattle ahead and Hawes took advantage. After Hawes hit the shot, Jason Kidd missed a desperate layup and Martin missed a three that would have sealed the match.

With one last chance to tie or win the game, the Stealth called a timeout with George Karl opting to go to Kevin Durant with the last shot. Durant chose to take a shallow drive in towards the hoop and launched a shot from the elbow. Hawes was there to make the game-winning block at the buzzer. As the buzzer sounded, Durant and the Stealth faithful were left shocked as the Kings celebrated on the court. “They were acting like they had won a playoff game and it’s only November,” Durant stated, “We were pretty disappointed though because we did let a 20 point lead slip away.”

The Stealth started the game on a roll in the first quarter, which included an 18-6 run. However, Sacramento was able to slowly chip away at the Stealth lead for the rest of the first quarter. The second quarter was a slow affair for both teams looked like they couldn’t hit a shot no matter how close they got to the hoop on multiple occasions. Seattle were able to begin the second half with another scoring run; the lead ballooning to its biggest at 16 points before Martin led the Kings’ comeback.

“It was a great win,” Martin stated, “No one would have thought we had it in us.”

Martin finished the game with 52 points, 5 shy of his career high. Chara, who is averaging close to a triple double so far this season, had a disappointing night all-around. He finished with just 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Former Seattle player Nick Collison had 8 points and 3 blocks.

Durant led his side with 29 points but was quiet in the second half. Adam Morrison knocked down plenty of open shots in the final quarter but could have been of more use if he was shooting well for the whole game. He finished with 11 points. Jason Kidd had a poor shooting performance as he shot 4 for 15 from the field. He had 11 assists; 7 of them coming in the first quarter.

George Karl was happy with the Stealth’s performance, “The Kings just got hot in the end. We made the necessary adjustments and you can’t do anything if one player is playing hot. We lost to their three ball. If we had lost by giving them a ton of open shots, that would have been hard to swallow.”

Notes: Jeff Green, threatening for Morrison’s starting spot, played a good game off the Stealth bench. Green contributed 9 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks. Karl stated after the match, “Jeff really gives us a boost off the bench so it is hard to decide if he should start. Sure, he deserves to start but he’s a great sixth man”… Former Sacramento King Brad Miller is injured with a bruised hip. He is listed as day-to-day… The Kings finished with 12 three pointers while the Stealth only had 4…

Derrick Rose Hits Shot At Buzzer In 1-Point Thriller

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Image
Derrick Rose hits the three pointer at the buzzer

26 November, 2009

CHICAGO (AP) – Thanksgiving couldn’t have been any bit sweeter for the Chicago Bulls. The injured Kevin Durant, of the visiting Seattle Stealth, was celebrating what he thought was the game winning bucket after hitting a shot with 0.8 seconds left. Those celebrations were short lived as Chicago’s Derrick Rose knocked down a three point bucket at the buzzer to win the game for the home team; 114-113.

Stealth Head Coach George Karl was visibly upset with his players as he lashed out at them after the match in the visiting locker room. He denied to comment at a press conference and called it off after saying, “I am very disappointed with my team after tonight’s game. We had a huge lead in the third quarter and we let go of it again. I don’t know how to tell them to stop letting these advantages slip out of their hands.”

Seattle started the match strong with a 12-0 run. Their lead reached a high of 26 points midway through the third period when Karl opted to take his starters off the floor and empty his bench. With a lineup of Johan Petro, Rocky Akonnor, David Lee, Reshawn Tyson, and Earl Watson on the floor, the Bulls lit them up and found themselves trailing only by 13 at the break.

The fourth quarter re-ushered in the starting lineup. Durant and Jeff Green were playing great before their long spell on the bench and looked lost amongst the action during the final quarter. Each player did not look to score or play aggressively, drawing criticism from Karl. Jason Kidd did his best to lead his team by scoring 12 of his 22 points in the fourth period but his efforts were in vain as none of his teammates stepped up when it mattered.

The Bulls who had trailed since the start of the second quarter had their first lead since the end of the first quarter with 4 minutes left in the game. That led to a see-sawing final few minutes, culminating in an exciting final minute of play. With 1:14 remaining, Durant hit a big three from the right wing to put the Stealth up by 5. Luol Deng answered the big shot with a triple of his own with 1:08 left on the clock. Durant’s pass to Kidd on the inbound was picked off by Kirk Hinrich and that led to a dunk by Joakim Noah. Noah’s dunk with 56.6 seconds left in the game tied the game up.

The two teams both missed shots on either end before Kidd’s close shot put Seattle up 2 with 17 seconds remaining. Rose calmly ran down the clock and converted a tough layup. With 4.1 showing on the game clock, and the scores knotted at 111-111; the Stealth called a timeout. In a frantic few seconds, Durant received the ball at the top of the key. Instead of going for a triple, Durant chose to drive towards the hoop. After recognizing he had lost his defenders, he pulled up for a jumper at the free throw line. The shot dropped and pushed Seattle’s noses in front by a meager 2 points. With only 0.8 seconds left in the match, it seemed that the Stealth had done enough to hold out for a sloppy win.

Chicago called a time out and Karl opted to take Kidd off the court and insert the taller and more athletic Tyson into the game to guard Rose. The rookie overplayed Rose, allowing Rose to receive the ball and have enough daylight in between them to get off an open look. As the shot dropped after the buzzer had sounded, the officiating crew reviewed the shot ruling that Rose had released the ball in time before time had run out. “That shot was one of the best (shots) of my career,” Rose stated after the game, “For sure.”

Rose finished the game with 26 points; 22 of them scored in the second half. Deng led the Bulls with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and a handful of big treys that helped the home side come back. The Stealth got 24 points from Durant and 22, each, from Kidd and Green.

Notes: Adam Morrison has been sidelined with a strained calf which has led to increased playing time for Stealth rookie Reshawn Tyson. Tyson scored a career high 12 points, which included an electrifying dunk and a couple of acrobatic layup makes and misses that dazzled the crowd… Tyson brought on jeers from the crowd as he wears the jersey number 23 and having hailed from the University of North Carolina. One fan held a sign reading: ‘There is only one 23!’… Durant is suffering from a sprained toe and the injury to Morrison has forced David Lee to play spot minutes at SF…
