Thanks, although admittedly not much is going on with NLSC stuff. It's sort of a back/side story to the Association.

At this rate your player might be filing a legal in-game name change to Wilt Witt :P

Image 2012 NBA PLAYOFFS - FIRST ROUND

EASTERN CONFERENCE

RESULTS

(1)Miami 2
(8)Milwaukee 4

Pivotal Moment: After they prematurely celebrated tying the 1971/72 Los Angeles Lakers record with 33 consecutive victories, the defending NBA champion Miami Heat could not break the record as they proceeded to fold and lose the next four to be bundled out of the playoffs by the Milwaukee Bucks. Miami's Lebron James (10pts, 4/15 FG, 1/8 3Pt, 1/2 FT, 6rebs, 2asts, 4TO's) disappointed in game 6 as the Bucks closed them out.

(4)Chicago 4
(5)Charlotte 1

Pivotal Moment: Chicago held Charlotte to only 4 points in the first quarter of game one. Despite scrapping a game later in the series, the damage was already done.

(3)Atlanta 0
(6)Cleveland 4

Pivotal Moment: Cavs' forwards Danny Granger (23.5ppg, 5.5rpg, 2.0spg, 1.5bpg, 1.0TOpg) and Tyler Hansbrough (20.0ppg on 68.4% FG) led the way as Cleveland shocked the Hawks and took them to school in every facet of the game. I wonder if the Indiana Pacers regret the trade now.

(2)Boston 4
(7)New York 0

Pivotal Moment: It was all about the Celtics' Rajon Rondo (21.5ppg, 5.0rpg, 11.5apg, 2.0spg) as he put on a show and made everybody feel sorry for Knicks' point guard Raymond Felton.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

RESULTS

(1)Oklahoma City 1
(8)Utah 4

Pivotal Moment: In another big upset, the Jazz's Al Jefferson (26.0ppg, 13.5rpg, 1.5bpg) put together the best five game stretch of his career as the Jazz outscratched OKC in five. The Jazz also got key contributions from Deron Williams, Paul Millsap and Baron Davis along the way as Kevin Durant (OKC) will have a lot of time to ponder what happened in this series.

(4)New Orleans 0
(5)LA Lakers 4

Pivotal Moment: All Lakers - Kobe (28.5ppg, 9.5apg, 5.0spg), Pau (24.0ppg, 14.0rpg, 2.0bpg) and Bynum (21.0ppg, 9.0rpg). The question is did the Hornets really stand a fighting chance?

(3)Golden State 0
(6)Houston 4

Pivotal Moment: The veteran Rockets held Stephen Curry (10.5ppg) and his teammates in check, whilst letting Monta Ellis (29.5ppg) get his. The strategy worked.

(2)Dallas 1
(7)Denver 4

Pivotal Moment: The perennial 1st Round chokers kept to form, going down to Denver's hi-octane offense, whilst getting little from anybody not German and a fan of the Hoff (33.5ppg, 10.5rpg).

And so begin the weirdest playoffs in living memory. And before you complain, check out my final four from last season's playoffs: Miami, LA Lakers, Boston, Houston.

Just be happy that Lebron James & the Vice will not be back-to-back champions. I'm also glad to see them not break (even if they did match) the Lakers' long standing 33 game win streak :P

An omen, perhaps? ;)

A few upsets there, glad to see the Bulls through.

I actually think Lebron is going to have a monster game tomorrow, just don't know if Wade & Bosh will. For some reason I think it might go to seven (despite my original 4-2 Mavs prediction).

Yep, a few upsets. That's what happens with 3-3-5-5 playoff formats (had to try to keep it consistent to 29 game seasons of course) I guess. Had all the favourites winning in 2011 Playoffs but it's all about the underdog this time around it seems.

I played against Cavs during regular season & they destroyed me. Defensively they are beasts & yet they get key contributions from Alonzo Gee. Considering how easily they dispatched a very good Hawks team, I think they could upset a few more teams. Definitely surprised by Bucks though

I'm glad to hear. Life would be easier if more people had the same attitude as you (Y)

Definitely weird playoffs. Heat being knocked out is a huge shock, I thought they'd win it all. Not that much of a shock that Mavs lost though. Nuggets still have Melo & the horses, they're better than a 7 seed. Mavs also screwed up big time during the season. They had a shot to win it all & were near top of West then they traded Terry to Detroit in a deal for [gulp] Charlie Villanueva  Once they made that deal I knew their season was over & that Dirk would never win a title (at least in this multiverse) :(

Image 2012 NBA PLAYOFFS - CONFERENCE SEMI FINALS

EASTERN CONFERENCE

RESULTS

(4)Chicago 2
(8)Milwaukee 4

Pivotal Moment: The fairytale continues for the Milwaukee Bucks who once again came back from an 0-2 deficit to sweep the final four games. Interesting stat for Brandon Jennings - in the four wins (27.5ppg, 50.0% FG, 38.5% 3Pt, 8.5apg, 2.5spg) and in the two losses (11.0ppg, 25.0% FG, 11.1% 3Pt). A shame Derrick Rose (33.3ppg, 6.7apg, 3.7TOpg) didn't get any support from his teammates.

(2)Boston 2
(6)Cleveland 4

Pivotal Moment: LeWho? Cavs' forwards Danny Granger (29.0ppg, 2.0spg, 2.0bpg) continued his strong play as the giant killers knocked out the heavily favoured Celtics.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

RESULTS

(5)LA Lakers 4
(8)Utah 3

Pivotal Moment: Both teams held serve at home before an epic 99-96 game 7 victory for the Lakers. The highlight of the series had to be Kobe's game 1 performance (53pts, 17/25 FG, 5/7 3Pt, 14/17 FT).

(6)Houston 4
(7)Denver 3

Pivotal Moment: Another tight series that went down to the wire. Melo (29.7ppg, 11.3rpg) was great but the depth and balance of the Rockets proved too much over the course of the series.

EASTERN CONFERENCE

RESULT

(6)Cleveland 4
(8)Milwaukee 1

Pivotal Moment: Up 2-1 in the series, in the pivotal fourth game the Cavs used their trademark strong D to hold Milwaukee's Brandon Jennings to 5 points and 4 turnovers.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

RESULT

(5)LA Lakers 3
(6)Houston 4

Pivotal Moment: The Rockets got the upset by limiting the Lakers' supporting cast and getting strong contributions from each of its best players.

Wow, the Cavs in the Finals. That's nasty. I love the fact that Tyler Hansbrough is playing well, but as you said before, the Pacers must be kicking themselves right now. Granger is the new LBJ.

Image 2012 NBA PLAYOFFS – NBA FINALS

NBA FINALS

RESULT

(6)Houston 2
(6)Cleveland 4

Pivotal Moment: With a never say die attitude, the Cavs came from behind in both games 2 and 5 to snatch them each by one point respectively. That clutch play turned out to be the difference between these two blue collar teams. The fairytale run for the Cavs marked the team's first ever title and the city's first title by a professonal sports team since 1964.

FINALS MVP

SF- Danny Granger, Cleveland
Finals Stats: 27.3ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.8spg, 1.0bpg

After scoring only 26 points total in the first two games, which the Cavs managed to get a split in Houston, Granger exploded for 48 points as Cleveland rolled to a comfortable victory in game 3. The Cavs used this momentum to win two of the next three games to take the title in Texas. Since arriving in Cleveland in a mid-season trade, Granger's play has been off the charts and he, along with Chinese rookie SF Jin Lam, has finally vanquished the bad taste left by "The Decision".

Not just in the Finals, but the NBA champions  I couldn't have scripted that myself. Simply put, they just got very hot in the playoffs & beat some good teams in Atlanta & Boston, but got very lucky that they didn't have to play Miami, LA Lakers or OKC. Full credit to them. Still wacky though.

I wouldn't compare Granger to LBJ, but his recent play has been LBJ-lite (at least in my multiverse, he's playing better than IRL LBJ).

Cavs have a pretty weak lineup, can't believe they won it all. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty strong defensively, but shit, crazy

hova- wrote:Oh sorry for splitting your reports :D Once again, Granger > LBJ. 48 in the finals? That's nasty.

That's alright. Normally I wouldn't post them all at once but it's going to be a crazy week at work so just thought I'd get them all out of the way and no more updates for almost a week, although happy for discussion.

But yep, Granger was beast. Mo Williams had 38 points in closeout game against Rockets. They got key contributions from guys like Alonzo Gee (wtf?!?) too.

Still can't believe Cavs won it all. I honestly thought when brackets opened up that Lakers were going to win it all. Then when Rockets beat them I thought Yao would finally win it all. I think it's a one-off though for Cavs. They'll likely be an above average East team but can't see them winning it again.

Cavs were like a poor man's version of the 2004 Detroit Pistons.

Andersen Varejao = Big Ben
Tyler Hansbrough/J.J. Hickson (combined) = Rasheed Wallace
Danny Granger = Tayshaun Prince/Rip Hamilton (combined)
Mo Williams = Billups

Alonzo Gee/Boobie Gibson = Rest of Pistons

Don't know who equals Darko, probably nobody since Darko is epic.

As I said, poor man's version of '04 Pistons

I guess the Basketball Gods intervened to offset Miami's 2011 title.
