Can't save dds file...HELP

Sun Jul 03, 2011 3:09 pm

need some assitance. whenever i edit a .iff file (jerseys files to be more specific) on photoshop, i cant save it. i made some extra layers in photoshop and combined the layers all together and it says "Unsupported Format". the only way i can save it is to get rid of the alpha layer or copy file, make new document, and paste (which basically is the same thing cause there is no alpha layer when i paste in new document.) so anyways to make it work? and when i save it without the alpha channel the jersey looks darker than the original especially for home jerseys.

sounds like you arent properly merging the layers together, but I dont know much about PS, just GIMP

I did do a tutorial with DDS files and GIMP in the tutorials section, but I dont know how much it can help you.

sounds like you haven't downloaded the dds plug in for photoshop. Just google "dds plugin photoshop" and follow download instructions and put the files into correct photoshop folders and u should be able to edit dds textures and save them.

Flatten Image will lock the layers, and that will solve your problem
