Postby marinmarin on Fri Oct 08, 2010 6:12 pm

I played nba 2k10 on high settings and it worked well with no freezing but i have problems with nba 2k11. I know that they are not a same game but i ran nba 2k1 on high and nba 2k11 is on medium practically unplayable for me.I reinstalled windows 1 month ago, maybe i should update my graphic card or install windows service pack 3 i don't know,i will appriciate every help because this game looks amazing to me
My specs
intel core duo 2.57 ghz
nvidia geforce 8800gt 512 mn
2gb ram..

when i enter the game first tame it optimize it for my system and everything was high except crowd detail but when i started benchmark performance fps rate was around 15 and i note that player detail decrase fps rate a lot...

Whatever FPS you got in 2K10 you SHOULD get the same (slightly better actually, say 1-2% improvement depending on background load) in 2K11 at the same settings.

I'd definitely update Windows and make sure you have the latest nvidia drivers installed. Any major background software running? A defrag, standard clean-up (ccleaner type) and so on won't solve the problem but couldn't hurt with loading times.

I was throwing ideas at the wall because I have the same video card you do, same amount of ram, and only a better processor yet my 2K11 performance is actually a hair better than 2K10 even maxed out.

Your video card is on the lower end of its class, but you're fine, if you turned off the MSAA you'd probably get a higher framerate. But if you're someone who can play at a stable 30fps, the MSAA is likely worth it. (Some people won't play games under 60fps.)

yah.. it doesn't matter if my fps is just 30+/sec, what matters to me is that i can run and play the game smoothly.

so that's why, is it recommended to turn off it? how can i have sharp colors?
i'm playing at a resolution of 1366x768.

AA doesn't have to do with the colors, it has to do with jagged lines that appear where polygons cease to exist. As it causes multiple draws and calculations it lowers the framerate, if you can deal with slightly more jagged lines you can turn that down and get a FPS boost.

See here for more detail on what AA does: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-aliasing

If you're fine with the framerate and the image quality roll with it, no need to change it from what you like.

Turn off V-Sync if you are only getting less than 60 fps

Wouldn't hurt to update that driver.

If the driver is from 2007 I'm willing to bet that simply updating the driver and then maybe making some slight adjustments in-game will fix it...
