I played 1 game in My Association after I downloaded the Patch, I'm still using the same settings/game sliders in the my Pre-Patch 2k11. I just noticed some new Animation, and the Changing shot when there's a defender is really good but I fell like it much easier for me to score in the post/paint area than the pre-patch version.

I didn't saw it on the list..

Did anybody recognize, that the perfect release-time is now much later than before? I need to hold Raymond Felton's shot so long that he nearly lands on the floor again. Its now no longer releasing when the player is at the highest point..... played many online games since the patch (through the league i play in) and got no single perfect release in the first 4 to 5 matches....

Lag may be coming into play. So, the game may be compensating for it visually, even if you release at the peak, the delay in the visuals will cause your player to release later in the animation.

The patch has pretty much ruined the shot stick timing release... Its just 2 hard to hit the shots...

Same. I perfected the textbook released, I put that shot to T-Mac, I think it looks better to him.lol. Then the patch came, I hardly knocked down a three.:/

before installing the new patch, i used to bench delonte west as i dont know how and where to use him in my rotation. But now his shot release seems to have advantage in the new patch as he is quite playing good when i use him in my games. I can let him score 10-15pts per game consistently and even got 29pts on one game with 5-7 3pt. His turnovers when passing though is still there but it is tolerable :)

Not sure if that seems to not be realistic as for the post patch, but im quite enjoying this hehe :)

It's weird how I have experienced the exact opposite. I never found the shot releases to be consistent at all pre-patch. I now am able to hit shots.

Hello, I really like the new patch. I have the game on Xbox 360 as well and have been playing the patch a couple months ago. However I switched over to the pc version even though it was unpatched because I couldn't keep away from the mods anymore. So I am very relieved that the patch is out for the pc version.

However, though I really like that plays are called now in My Player, I do not like that it is called every trip down the floor. I like it to be like it is in real life where plays are called when you are in need of a bucket, to exploit the defense, or just when the team needs it but a lot of the time the players are in freestyle mode executing non-called plays through understanding each others game/tendencies. I feel that this randomness and team-specific 'charm' of the game has gone. Is there anyway to set it so that the cpu does not call a play every trip down the floor? It would really be perfect for ME if there is a combination of freestyle play and set plays.

This is especially important as I like to force the issue sometimes with My Player, who is a PF, like players do in real life and you can come out of it a hero or that guy who lost the game. But now I can't force the issue anymore. I cannot run the floor and quickly post up. I cannot catch the ball at the elbow and try to make a face-up move. It is just non-stop plays.

Thanks

You've never played in the NBA, have you?

Every possession is a called play.

In real life? No, not really. Unless its Dunleavy's Clippers. Coaches call some more complex plays when they feel they need to. But mostly the point guards set up the play. Most of it rudimentary. Like a high pick n roll. Or he would try to penetrate into the lane either to finish or pass it off to a big man or spot up shooter. That is why players have player tendencies. Player tendencies are things players tend to do in the open court or the half court offence when there isn't a play. What is the point of tendencies if plays are called every possession and players are expected to run these set plays?

There is a big difference between a set play, which in My Player is run every possession, and a free play where the point guard calls the shot and everyone plays to their strengths. Just look at very specific styles like Jerry Sloan's or the triangle, they practice it and learn it so they do not need to run a play every trip down. In this case certain tendencies are taught to the players. Similar to Orlando Magic's offense. How often are plays called? Very very very little. Instead the pg on that team is expected to penetrate and know where his team mates are spotting up. They run a lot of pick n rolls too. Same as Spurs. Or Utah with Malone and Stockton. Or Felton and Amare. Point is that teams do not run plays every possession. That is bad basketball. That is how teams lose in todays game.

It's a safe bet that none of us here ever have.

Call for the ball. Disadvantage is your teammate grade might take a hit but that will be negated if you make a basket, which is just like in real life.

I do try to call for the ball but it doesn't get passed to me. But it is a new team I just been traded too so I guess I'll need to raise team chem and my clout. It still would be a better game if the frequency that teams run plays is based on the coaching profile 'run plays' rather than having plays all the time.

It would make the game more realistic as well as you could go to team that has a run n gun coach and you just play fast and hard. Or you may get a team that has a very picky coach who would run plays a lot and sloooooooooow down the offence. That would be cool. I hope they will have that in 2k12 instead of polar extremes of no plays and all plays.

Just came here to post a similar issue. Just got a desktop crash, but that was right after I'd been subbed out mid-game. What the hell is up with the quality control for this game? I'm gonna give up on My Player.

Only ever happened to me once. My very first NBA game. But since then in about 22 games it hasn't happened to me since. You should save your game at the half or 3rd quarter just in case of crashing. Just don't save it during a timeout or using the broadcast camera or you'll not be able to load your game up again. Unless this has been fixed by the new patch.

That's one of the issues that's supposed to be addressed by the new patch. From memory, it's also supposed to fix any My Player games in progress but that wasn't guaranteed.

After a week of trouble trying to patch the game. I finally able to patch it and played a game with All-Star difficulty, default quarter and simulation setting game. I must say I liked the new animations, added commentary, blocking seems to be toned down but the patch wasn't without disadvantages. In the game I played it was a really low scoring one, but I guess it because of the settings and both teams cannot knocked down a wide open shot which is weird.

Well, before the patch I couldn't load my MyPlayer file without the game crashing (due to the saving during a time-out bug). The patch fixed this. But now, the game crashes mid-game when I'm first subbed out after the first quarter. This happens every time I play, so I am stuck.

i'm experiencing occasional lag/stuttering during offline gameplay after the patch. fps benchmarks are the same, but stuttering occurs on center court and sometimes in the paint when it's crowded with players in action.

i didn't have those issues before the patch.

p.s. my pc is far away superb to this game requirements.

Did you modify your config file? That can cause stuttering.
