release it. Many people don't play online. Let the DDs explain to their customers (who can't play online) why they're taking so long, rather than allow DDs' to delay patching for people who chose to buy retail.

all that wait should be embarassing for 2k. as a company they should take care of the pc users; the pc community is there, active and compact and is providing so much for the title with his modding.

I think the delay is a lack of ressources. When 2K are able to release the PC patch earlier than they would make it, but they can´t. Otherwise, we should respect the consoles. They pay 60 € and the PC user only 20 € (in Germany). So, i can live with that delay.

the 20 dollars stuff is something wich has a sense sales-wise (avoid piracy with low price and so on), but you just can't say that pc users deserve less because they pay less; and I really don't think that 2k thought that when setting that pricing, they are just not aware and capable on that portion of the market.. yet, atleast

Hey guys,
Sorry to report (and thank you so much for those understanding in the delay, the long arduous process that it is to get a PC Patch approved) that a crash was detected in the disc version of the patch that will further delay the release of the PC Patch. Thankfully, because it looks isolated to the disk version, we will likely not have to go through the process of resubmitting to each of the DD's and this should only go through the fix and QA process.

Remember, we can't release a patch without 99% of where users get the game (across DD's, disc versions, etc.) having approved the patch. If we did, everyone else who didn't have the patch would crash because of backwards compatibility issues (old versions would crash on existence of new version). Obviously, people who bought the disk represent a good portion of people with the game so we can't do that until it's ready.

I am sorry about this. But I am also trying my best to be honest with you guys so you get an understanding of the depth of this process. I tell you that we've finished it when we have because that's the truth. I am hoping it gives you some background to our business, something other companies won't do. I will continue to keep you posted on Twitter and the forums.

I was just gonna write the same thing. The patch was out of QA a month ago. It doesn't make any sense.

@SirShaffty I don't want to put a definite ETA on it but the problem was found already, fix doesn't take long, but QA can take days.

I just hope it'll be here before the end of the year. It doesn't look like its going to come within the next few weeks based off of Ronnie2k's twitter response.

We'll be lucky to get it before the All-Star break but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Please surprise me 2K...

same bullshit every single year. it's like dealing with a perpetual liar.. excuses after excuses after excuses with no progress. it's like 2k wants the pc market to disappear. that or they think we are all borderline retarded.

The real problem is that no one takes responsibility, so no one does anything, and so the patch stalls forever.

It's either DD not approving, QA finding bugs no one fixes and so on. There's no one stepping up and actually DOING something about problems that come up. So it's all about "let's hope".

Let's hope that the patch falls from the sky on its own, because it's damn sure no one is working on it.

It's never been the DD's fault, it's always been 2K's. They tried to coordinate the patch releases because they can't handle it on their end, and now we see it's the retail version that they are somehow incompetent to patch.
