... maybe PC Patch???

Here's hoping. The thought occurs it could also be word on the 3D update for the PS3 version.

This twitting affair is nice (props to ronnie for getting back with responces - pretty vague but better than none) but there's still nothing official in 2k official page and forums (not even a sticky) - the places where one would expect to be informed of such things.

"PC Patch is very close but out of our our control. I don't see it taking more than another couple weeks."
http://twitter.com/Ronnie2K/status/25662115364732930I'm speechless.

@kevinyang77 TryMedia is one of the ones we're waiting on.
@MittWilson It was in March last year. It won't get to that point so don't stress.
@kevinyang77 Do you know what happens if we released it and a DD wasn't ready? Mass crashes to anyone who doesn't have the patch

Real great..the annoucement was for another console patch. Doesn't Microsoft and Sony need to approve those too? Why don't they take f**kin 3 months..
So we have one of two choices: push the patch live on our site and limit the DD's from playing with the patch and hurt online play overall until the bigger DD's post them , or wait until it is right (probably mid next week) and only Gamersgate people will be refrained from playing online until then. I want you guys to try your best to be unselfish here. But go ahead and give us your opinion and we'll take your opinions into light.
Why don't they offer this again like last year?

Why no one else has this kind of problem?
When Fallout New Vegas launched and had some big problems a patch was pushed out in two days.

I'd say there's more people playing New Vegas and other such games so perhaps there's more incentive for the DDs to get the patch through quickly, or perhaps there's something else going on behind the scenes that we're not aware of that creates different circumstances for different developers. Whatever the case, the bottom line is that it's frustrating for us.

we need to all email trymedia or someone needs to leak the patch

New Vegas also exclusively used Steam. NBA 2K11's wide variety of options for digital distributors is actually hurting us because of the inability to get out a patch within a reasonable timeframe. Reducing the number of DDs may not be a popular decision, but it would be for the best of the quality of the game. If these minor distributors can't get their act together, why should we have to suffer through it?

Why don't they just restrict online services from those digitial distributors who are inefficient at processing patches? Ugh. I think I might just get the console version. With my plans limited by time I think it might be wait until next year....

Ah, that's certainly the difference then. I wholeheartedly agree, stick with a few major DDs or indeed exclusively use Steam as Bethesda did.

Not only that but who the hell would buy it from TryMedia?

LOL

This patch history is a shame.
The only thing to do it's to post Ronnie (on twitter) and 2ksports official forum (genaral not pc user that's never read by mods) until they post patch.
All ronnie's posts are lie for get time and dev consoles issues (3d issues come out before pc patch !!!!).
We must cheat forums like last year if we really want official patch (last year 2k10 was patch in march with a 24mB patch

)
See you later in official forum for user strike back !

2K claims it'll crash people without the patch, unlike say, last year.
And they were Steam exclusive with 2K9 but backed off from that in years hence. Lots of people here were upset about the Steam requirement.

LOL
Considering it's not even listed on their site and I could find no way to buy it from them I have no clue what connection they hold to any of this.

what I find interesting about the crashing statement is this
Ronnie 2K wrote:@kevinyang77 Big DD's have to get back to us. The small ones, we just go ahead and release.

Gamersgate is small then, I guess. They released it first last year.
Sun Jan 16, 2011 11:32 am
But that was because they screwed up, not because they were told to release. And they aren't even selling 2K11. At least not in the U.S.
I can only find three services in the U.S. it's available on: Steam, D2D and GameStop. It's easier to find that shady site with the .com version of a once great url that always posts it for free along with all the patches.
For the UK there's:

There really has to be a reasonable timeframe for DDs to bring the patches to their customers and if they don't - 2ksports should release the retail version patch on their site anyway. The alternative is what we have now: if one DD does not release it - no one gets it
I'll bring back a Ronnie tweet:
PC Patch for #NBA2K11 headed back to Digital Distributors (Steam, D2D, OnLive, etc.) today.

This reminds me so much of last year. Ronnie giving updates now and again, each time making it sound like the patch was close to release, but in the ending taking many months to come out.
Mon Jan 17, 2011 10:20 pm
exactly!!!!!
Tue Jan 18, 2011 8:41 pm
When Ronnie says it would crash non-patched games does he mean when playing online?
If so, then release it. Many people don't play online. Let the DDs explain to their customers (who can't play online) why they're taking so long, rather than allow DDs' to delay patching for people who chose to buy retail.
