EU-AUS/US version - Small Logos Missing on Courts Fixed

Postby Tupac-Shakur on Wed Oct 06, 2010 11:25 pm

jmmontoro wrote:Hey Jao, finally got a copy of the US version. But to my surprise, it wasn't working either! So after doing a bit of research I noticed that the game checks which language format is active in Windows. If it's not set to "English (United States)" it will force the Euro mode. Try it yourself, check which language format you have and change it to anything, play the game in Toronto for example and you'll notice the Euro court. Change back to "English (United States)" to regain normality.

Why the hell 2k did it again? Still no small logos in EU-AUS version. Can somebody explain the reason why they do it year by year?

it was explained by a developer on OS that it is due to a legal issue in Europe that they can't have the small logos on the court. 2K only makes 2 versions of the game, North America, Everywhere else. So the only way around it is to have the NA version of the game.
Opinions are my own.

It´s odd. Is it possible that the floors have seperate Copyrights and so it´s prohibited to deal with them outside the US ? I think so, it´s the only reasonable explanation for me.

I have no clue, it's really dumb, but all I know is that they are legally bound by it

Just great! Delivery time and price of this version is uneconomical, besides its funny to me to hear that is all about legal issue-LOL- i cant belive in this theory- its ridiculous. Thanks anyway for this Jao.
BTW. when i watch nba game on tv in europe they should also hide small logos. LOL.

yes and no, the NBA told 2k and EA that the cavs court will look that way even though it obviously doesnt. One of the devs showed the NBA rep the real court design and they said it was "fan art" and not the true design. Someone dropped the ball.

think this one through, "2k legally can't put secondary logos on the courts in the rest of the world version of the game"
doesn't it sound completely ridiculous?

Don't blame 2K (you can blame them for being cheap), blame the NBA's licensing department or your country's licensing laws.

Someone outside of the USA look at 2K10 and Live 10 on the 360/PS3 and tell me if there are no small logos.

Ok we wait for Andrew.
But hey i dont understand why they cant put small logos on Orlando/Washington/Dallas/Chicago/L.A.C/Cleveland/San Antonio (and maybe others) court but yes, they can do that with Charlotte/Denver/Oklahoma/Houston (others?). What is the difference? Cmon i understand MSG sign is not allowed becouse of licence and copyrights but what is the difference beetwen big bull in the middle of the court and small bull under basket. For me its 2ks mistake, im almost sure. Another thing, in 2k10 Oklahoma court have no small logo, 2k11 have small logo, i dont understand, something change?

Yes. If u live in US or Canada u got luck.

BTW. Is there any chance to buy NA version from steam?

EDIT: One more thing why in other than NA version when set low on stadium we can get small logo? So when low license and others things doesnt matter at all? its really absurd!

You said everything! I don't believe this "copyright" thing for the same reason. I think its all bullshit. They must have just "updated" the Stadium packages from 2K10 and so the issues continues, and so the "RIGHT LOW QUALITY COURTS".

Let's get it fixed, like we fixed the 2k10.

2k11 is a GREAT game, they should'nt make such a big mistake with the stadiums..

Cheers
