OVRs for every team player in the game

Talk about NBA 2K11 here.

OVRs for every team player in the game

I also compiled the ratings for the Jordan mode teams. Most of these teams only have the top 5-6 players, and beyond that are filled with 50s rated generics (which is disappointing, but completely expected given 2K's track record).

:(
Opinions are my own.

It's pretty much obvious by now that 2K doesn't really update their ratings except for a few players. Just look at the quoted statement about 50s rated generics. That shows the effort they put into it.

Though to be fair to 2K, Rashidi found out that most players ratings were unchanged from the last 2K10 roster update, which should be the case (even if Rashidi thinks otherwise) - initial player ratings this year should be based on last season's performance.
The reason for changes in some of the players were because of the new attributes which gave a 1 or 2 increase/decrease in overall.

Sadly, with all the data available to 2K from 82games, 2K doesn't use it properly. Despite all that data, the final say on ratings changes is up to the 2K Insider, who's more concerned about overalls to represent a player's ability in the game instead of specific attributes. The 2K Insider is also prone to change ratings based on requests of the majority of gamers instead of actual player performance.

Adam Keefe SF?!?

Try Shandon Anderson. Keefe played a bit more in 1997 Finals than 1998 if IRC. But really disappointing that Shandon, Howard Eisley, Antoine Carr, etc have been snubbed (N)

I also compiled the ratings for the Jordan mode teams. Most of these teams only have the top 5-6 players, and beyond that are filled with 50s rated generics (which is disappointing, but completely expected given 2K's track record).

That's a shame, but it's clear what one of the first patching projects for the game will be.

in some of the past pics i saw stacey king in there which he is wearing #34 for the 1991 & 1990 bulls team
and speaking of classic teams stacey king should also be in the 1992 bulls teams as well (he wore #21 in the 1992 Bulls team)
and i noticed that there are so many missing players in different classic team rosters:
#45 A.C. Green - 1991 Lakers
#34 Tony Smith - 1991 Lakers
#20 Terry Teagle - 1991 Lakers
#41 Elden Campbell - 1991 Lakers
#43 Mychal Thompson - 1991 Lakers
#22 John Salley - 1990 pistons, 1996 Bulls
#15 Vinnie Johnson - 1990 Pistons
#23 Mark Aguirre - 1990 Pistons
#40 Shandon Andreson - 1997 Jazz, 1998 Jazz
#00 Greg Ostertag - 1997, 1998 Jazz
#55 Antoine Carr - 1997, 1998 Jazz
#44 Greg Foster - 1997, 1998 Jazz
#43 Chris Morris - 1997, 1998 Jazz
#10 Nate McMillan - 1996 Sonics
#34 Frank Brickowski - 1996 Sonics
#2 Vincent Askew - 1996 Sonics
#50 Ervin Johnson - 1996 Sonics
#25 David Wingate - 1996 Sonics
#3 Eric Snow - 1996 Sonics
Randy Brown - 1996 Bulls, 1997 Bulls, 1998 Bulls
#8 Dickey Simpkins - 1996, 1997, 1998 Bulls
#35 Jason Caffey - 1996, 1997, 1998 Bulls
#20 Bobby Hansen - 1992 Bulls
#42 Scott Williams - 1991, 1992 Bulls
#24 Scott Burrell - 1998 Bulls
#10 Howard Eisley - 1997, 1998 Jazz
#18 Brian Williams - 1997 Bulls
#00 Kevin Duckworth - 1992 Blazers
#14 Robert Pack - 1992 Blazers
#31 Alaa Abdelnaby - 1992 Blazers
#2 Mark Bryant - 1992 Blazers
#8 Ennis Whatley - 1992 Blazers
#42 Wayne Cooper - 1992 Blazers
#50 Greg Anthony - 1995 Knicks
#4 Anthony Bonner - 1995 Knicks
#21 Charlie Ward - 1995 Knicks
#54 Charles Smith - 1995 Knicks
#44 Hubert Davis - 1995 Knicks
#32 Herb Williams - 1995 Knicks
#2 Monty Williams - 1995 Knicks
*Randy Brown wore #0 in the 1996 Bulls and then wore #1 in the 1997, 1998 Bulls
*Players like Robert Parish and James Edwards may be in their respective teams like 1986 Celtics and 1990 Pistons but you didnt see them in other classic teams
like where Robert Parish should also be part of the 1997 Bulls Roster and James Edwards also should be a part of the 1996 Bulls roster
also Doc rivers who is a part of the 1990 Hawks should also be part of the 1995 Knicks as well
and about the free agents? delonte west moved to boston if you didn't know
also larry hughes which he will be playing for charlotte
i dont know if its true but maybe when they will update the roster in the next few weeks, maybe you will see these free agents playing in their respective teams soon enough
from what i see, it's like 50% of the original players and 50% generic players in each of the classic teams
like what they say, it's a bit dissapointing that you will see some generic players in different classic teams
but hopefully in the next few weeks or months when everybody has the game, hopefully they would patch each of the classic teams so they could give it a more realisitic accurate classic teams
well lets just hope it would still turn out great by the time the game releases in october 5 in PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, Wii, PS2 and of course PC.
P.S. if anyone has the game already, feel free to correct me on the missing players if you like. thanks

Yeah, it does leave console players out in the cold. That's usually the way though.

I don't think it completely ruins the concept because they've got the big names at least, but yeah, I do think 2K deserve to be called out on that as I seem to remember them saying they got everyone and clearly they didn't.

They never claimed that... What they said was that the starters and some bench players were in, not all.

Are you sure? I'm fairly certain they said something along the lines of "We've got everyone" when the classic teams were first announced.

One thing that hasn’t really been mentioned in all the great coverage today, we spent a tremendous amount of time getting the Historic Bulls teams and their biggest rivals into NBA 2K11. We went out and got the rights to the actual players from each era and spent a ton of time capturing their signature shots, moves, and tendencies. So not only are we building you the perfect Michael Jordan in-game, we are also giving you some of the games great players from yesteryear such as Scottie Pippen, Larry Bird, Dominique Wilkins, and many others. With those guys in the game, it didn’t feel right without adding era specific commentary. I am sure the audio team will get into that more in a future Insight.

nothing specifically saying all of them

I guess not. Seems we read a bit too much into this bit:
