Game wont start under windows XP sp3

I played 2k11 on xp sp2, then i had to download the sp3 update in order to play black ops. Then 2k11 would nt load settings therefore blocking everything.
So I unistalled the game the installed again this time when the Jordan intro starts and after 5 seconds it just stays black, with the music looping
Is there anything I can do to fix this besides formatting my hard drive?

try running the game as administrator

I had problems a lot of them.I tried everything really everything and it didn't work and i reinstalled windows and now it works.I have sp3 so it is not a problem in service pack...

Thanks Im going to have to reinstall xp sp3. As soon as I buy a second hard drive to move s ton of files. I might not be playing 2k11 for another 3 weeks
