My thoughts on 2k11.

Postby NYKNICK on Thu Nov 04, 2010 4:38 pm

These are only my experiences I am having with the game and things I have noticed.

1. Deflections. Way too many. Its like playing volleyball sometimes. Deflections after deflection after deflection and it seems I never end up getting the deflections.
2. Movement. It sucks simple as that. I cant run or move without doing a retarded animation.
3. Defense. Part of this problem is movement, I cant stay in front of my guy and the cpu defense on my team is absolute crap. The cpu also seems to make everything...currently shooting 64% against me through 4 games.
4. Shooting. Post up and running plays it automatic, but god forbid you try a ten ft jumper. Even though the marker is green for when you shoot it will miss. EVERYTIME!!! Same thing with layups.
5. AI . The AI is stupid as shit. Simple as that. They run into each other and just run in place wrecking anything you try to do.
6. Passing. Button passing is fine. But sometimes I think, the cpu should be able to pick the right person to pass to. If I am running a pick and roll pass it to the guy rolling. Dont cross court pass...Come on thats just retarded.

Just my thoughts. Surely the more I play the more I can deal with some of these problems but this is the only game on the market so I am going to have to deal with the problems.

Learn the nuances of the game just like DCzar said in his video,me i'm beginning to enjoy the game I play in all star difficulties which is by far i think the best gameplay difficulties settings in 2k11 as far as simulation game is concern, and also know your player,, attributes and tendencies etc.practice your offensive and defensive sets, though you may not use them every time, it will definitely help you a lot on how to use them during the game. specially during crunch time,,The CPU is damn in the 4th quarter taking some bad shots which will give you the opportunity to crushed them.. these are only my suggestions hope will help you enjoy the game..

Lost 2 more games. SO currently 0-6.

What is the criteria for making shots. Is it just random or something because I am taking wide open shots and the shot helper thing or whatever is it is green and I am still missing. I dont understand what the point of that meter is and why it says release jumper at top of jump if those things dont have anything to do with making shots.

I don't get how you can't make a jumper, I'm playing with the Clippers & most of my points come off of jumpers/mid-range game.

I've never, ever played an entire season (every game) and I'm pretty close to completing one with 2K11, all 82 games. I think I've played around 60-65 up to now.

The deflections can be turned down, sometimes it's higher against better defensive teams (Boston, ugh Boston) but if you pass like a retard, you can be certain the players will swipe the ball in real life. Sure it's sometimes annoying that they seem to be able to do it with their backs towards you, but that's just a hindrance.

Overall the game is really enjoyable (All-Star difficulty) and making jumpers is what I love so much about this game. A mid range game, yay.

Seriously though, the game is amazing. I've been sick & playing a bit more..last night I played the Bobcats and had to go to double overtime which I won by 4 then tonight I had to play Boston in Boston and ended up winning on a last second shot from Trevor Ariza ending the game at 84-83.

I love this game. [/end 2K love.]

Dont get me wrong I love this game. But I dont want to run a play and get a automatic shot everytime because that is boring to me. I always play all my games never simulate and this is like a prep for when I move to 12 min quarters. The problem with deflections is it seems the defense is able to cover so much ground. I'd imagine if the defense played zone with just three guys on court they would easily shut my guys down.

Currently 1-7. I beat uhhh.....Durants team. I was winning by like 12 pts to start the quarter then they came all the way back because of Durant which is basically cheating makes every shot can zoom right past my whole team and I won on a buzzer beater. But next game got blown out by the Mavericks.

For the shooting percentage. Real shooting percentage scares me. I think that would be even less. Does it at all use timing like for instance, if I am shooting a 3pt with my center will he miss just because he has a low real life percentage in real life?

Pretty much, it'll use the same percentages as in real life.

You don't have to run a play every time to make a shot, I have a PG on the Clippers team who is pretty much a drive/dish type of player and I usually find Ariza/Gordon on the wing for three's (which they miss quite often, leading to 30-35% from three) but I also manage to find Kaman/Griffin for the easy dunk or the 12 foot jumper.

You just have to play a bit more, at first I was on a 10 game losing streak too, then you figure out which teams have which strengths and it gets better. Also set your defensive assignments, against the Thunder make sure you put a good defender on Durantula with play tight and perhaps a double team if he's hot. With the Mavs you do that to Dirk, Lakers Kobe..etc etc.

It gets better dude, seriously.

Just lost to the spurs. Was up by 7 with 2 min and 30 seconds left and they came back and scored 14 straight. There was a point where once I inbounded my guy would just bump into Tony Parker and bump back out and I couldnt literally do anything because that is what he was doing over and over. This is really to the point where it makes absolutely no sense to me. I dont know what I am doing wrong, the shot helper is green but he still misses. It is completely random, why would they program something like that into a video game. Its like if you put your cross hair on someone in a shooting game and it doesnt go where the cross hair is. Makes absolutely no sense to me.

Its not automatic or 100% the shot will fall even if the shot meter is green, sometimes it depends if you have the momentum,

So why include that in or make it still green then. Plus it happens all the time. With Iggy, I basically get it green all the time but make it like 1/4 of the time.

Also questions about real percentage.

If I put the thing to real percentage say if my guy in real life whoever it may be shoots 60 percent from the floor. I already am 4/4 will it miss a wide open shot just because he shoots 60 percent or what?

Or say if a player on my team whoever it is shoots a low percentage from three and I shoot and its wide open I got it right with the stick will he still miss.

Or is just like you press a button and it is completely random like it currently is with the shot stick.

Yep. This game is just a stinking pile of horse shit. I feel like shooting is completely random. There is no method to it. Just like you got a 10 percent chance of making it hope you get lucky. Nothing about this game to me is good. But for some reason I cant stop playing it. I am just gonna put the shoot sliders all to 100 for me and 0 for cpu and see how that goes. Maybe I can make a wide open shot when the shot helper says its green. Yaaaayyyy.

No offense, but if Shot Stick Shooting isn't working for you, you could change to Real FG%...

You must be a total retard while playing, you seem to be the only one having this problem.

I tried to be nice, but seriously..
