NBA 2k11 Bugs & Issues

I haven't seen a similar topic so I've started a new one. I don't think that there are many bugs, but I have discovered something.
I played about 20 games and I was unable to take a charge. There is obviously a charge but the ref always calls blocking every time. In 2k10 I used to press B button (X360) and just take a charge in fastbreaks. Here it just doesnt seem to work.

I read on the 2k forum that the rosters don't include 2nd round picks and also not Henry and Vazquez from the Grizzlies.. not really a bug but it sucks..

I read somewhere taking charges is different now, different controls, maybe that makes it harder (to time)..

What is worst, imo anyway, is that they might be called #21 and #13 all year because of this..

as well as all the second rounders won't have names.

That's just dumb/lazy imo. Last year it annoyed the hell out of me that some guys like Casspi and Jerebko didn't have their proper names, it's just going to be the same again, just different players, no idea who's going to be a good player from the 2nd round with PT yet but somebody will.

Yes there are a lot of guys missing, mostly rookies like Ebanks , Character ,Mozgow , Henry , Vasquez. I bet it will be fixed with one of the first living rosters .

as they said they are going also to put new sounds and commentaries during the year, maybe they are going to update the names of the ppl missing...

I just read that Henry and Vazquez were in Summer League though in my player so I guess they're in the game pretty much already.. and one guy said he created Ebanks and Caracter and that their names were pronounced even though their names weren't in the menu to choose from..

Well, if you read on the opening screen, it says "as of August 15th 2010" which means that they didn't sign their contracts until after that date

That is correct. If they didn't sign by then, they aren't included. No worries, the first roster update will have them.

yes many people got freezing experience most around 8 games... some can reach around 20s but still freeze at some point...
Some players was able to get back to the game when they use save and quit before the crash happen...

I remember later year this problem revolved around Missing Coaches because AI GM are firing coaches now they dont have coaches which can cause some crash
also Missing Players in a team when substitution happens there is no one to replace as a sub.

just my thoughts..
Just check your roster first before playing My Player Mode, try to see find some problem on the coaches and player, inspect them if possible.

i manage to fix nba2k10 crash problem before... ive downloaded the latest roster package that day.... and when i run my player i got some crash during my 58th game... they to inspect and think.. because the first time i played my player mode i got no problem even finish the season with it.

to confirm the problem i use the latest 2k roster and create a player and play through it, as expected i got some crash so i concluded that the roster package that day was broken.

i try to reinstalled the 2k10 game, in which will make my roster package to game default, after that i created a new my player again and played through it and manage to finish the season without any crash at all.

Critiques of the review have been that the review doesn't really say much about the actual game. For instance, it's been reported that coaches get fired after every loss in My Player. Clearly this is a huge glitch to a game mode that should be dragging down the game's score (and something that needs to be patched ASAP). This wasn't even mentioned in the review.

There are a lot of commentary glitches. Here are some:

In the first game of a round 1 playoff series Harlen says this is the first time these teams will meet in the regular season. He goes on to mention it's the first of four times they'll play, that's a lot of games.

At the end of the 3rd quarter (tie score) Harlen shouts "we go to overtime".

In a playoff game 2 at Boston, where the Bulls won game 1 at Boston, the sideline reporter mentions that Doc Rivers wants to steal this game from the Bulls and then go home. They are home. The Bulls stole game one from them.

Often after a made shot Harlen says something about missing a shot that player usually makes.

Harlen sometimes calls a steal before it happens. He says "so and so with the steal", then that player pokes the ball away, picks it up for a steal.

A low bench guy who hardly plays, hardly gets any rebounds the whole season, grabs his one rebound of the game. The announcers mention what a beast he is on the boards and his reputation as a big time rebounder.

Saw this at the start of the second half. Kobe missed the first shot of the half, neither team had shot in the second half before that shot. Harlen says Kobe has been hurting the team this half with his poor shooting.

Not only do they tell the same personal stories game after game in an association, but sometimes they'll tell the same story twice or more in the same game. Playing the Bulls I heard two times in the same game the same spiel about Rose's college days, playing in the NCAA tournament.

There's an issue with games if they are quit-sim to end. So far this has only happened when I quit-sim to end during the 3rd quarter. The game simply ends. The box score shows 0 points for the 4th Q.

The sim game stats, especially in the playoffs, result in constant blowouts. For example a 7 game series between A and B might look like this:

I've played a few hours of onlive 30 minute trial sessions of the game. I noticed there was a dunking/block animation glitch. It happened when the dunker and shot blocker are right under the basket. I was controlling the offensive player, there was an open lane and I went up for the dunk, when the defense came out of no where. I saw a block animation (right under the basket), but then I realized the basket counts when the ball was inbounded. Other than that, everything else is cool so far.

fjccommish, although I haven't experienced these problems but I hope it's not as bad as what you put in your post.
