Performance of 2k11 with OS

Does the OS affects the performance of 2k11? Does the 64bit is better than 32bit?

Enh, not in a huge way, but with 64-bit you can use more than 3GB of RAM.

but isnt the exe a 32-bit program, so it won't even use more than 3gigs?
