Lag With Players On High

Sun Aug 14, 2011 3:35 pm

I'm getting a little lag when I set the players on high. I'm not sure if it's my processor or my graphics card, I thought they would be more than good enough to run 2k11. Please someone help. Should I overclock?
Specs.
Intel i7 2600 3.4 mhz
8 gb ram
ATI Raedeon 6700 HD

i7 dual core or the quad core one(as far as I know, I saw something like that when I'm canvassing. So correct me if I'm wrong), but either way, it should run perfectly.

2k11 is optimized for dual core processors. Try disabling one or two of your cores.

Start the game. Alt-tab back to the desktop. Open the windows task manager by pressing ctrl-alt-del on your keyboard. Click on the processes tab. Find nba2k11.exe and right click on it. Hover your mouse over affinity and uncheck the last one or two boxes. Go back into the game and see if it still has a problem with the framerate.or

PDub do I have to this everytime I start the game? It always resets whenever I play 2K11 again.

You can make a *.bat file with the appropriate setting to the exe of the game. You then make that *.bat file as your 2K11 shortcut so you don't have to do alt-tab from the game when you want to play.

quick Google search so I can't confirm it:

Thanks shadowgrin, I got it to work but it seems to lag much more than manually setting the affinity.

Did you follow exactly what was on that link? Don't.

set affinity to 2 and remove the /high

I never had /high in my batch file and I put affinity 7. My intent was to use CPU 0,1, and 2.

I ran into this link and I saw which affinity I needed.

Affinity 3. right? The one that enables only the first two cores?

Also try setting the priority to High. The priority option is right above the affinity option. I changed my priority to high and leave the affinity as is because that is what ended up working best for my laptop.

@PDub I wanted to enable the 1st three, so I used affinity 7.

@tgsogood I'll try that soon thanks.
