Created Portraits is too large in-game

I created my own portrait and placed it into the game successfully. However Penny`s size in the orginal photo seems too large,do you know if I can make Penny becomes smaller without change the pixel (256*256 and 512*512)in photshop? When I change the document size, image pixel change automatically...

Or must I choose anther photo with Penny`s head is smaller? But I love the current portrait, it s really cool..

just make the layer with penny smaller but leave the whole thing the original size. Idk if u will understand this, but use 2 layers. One will be transparent and have the original dimensions and the 2nd layer is the actual photo. Resize the photo not the transparent layer
