NBA2K Once Again the Life is Sucked From It

With NBA 2K10 I was excited to play, found a lot of little problems, read about more, and waited patiently for the patch. By the time the patch arrived my enthusiasm for computer basketball had waned. I couldn't sell the game because it was a digital download.

With NBA2K11 my initial enthusiasm was even higher. But once again the little bugs were a road block to playing. Now it's been two months waiting for a patch. My enthusiasm is, once again, gone for PC basketball.

The digital distributors control the patch, decide when it can release based on their schedules. I'm bound by that despite choosing not to purchase from them this time. At least this year I can sell the game.

Yup, play that violin. Meanwhile lots of customers are still waiting for companies the customers didn't choose. The DD's and their poor business model is delaying people from playing an updated game, including people who want to play offline not online.

Post it in the official 2K forums or send an email to their customer support. As much as this site (NLSC) has helped improve the PC version, this is only a (relatively unknown NBA 2K) fan site for the game. It's almost useless posting personal opinions here regarding their crappy model for updating/releasing their patches.

Don't worry people. Even with your frustrations about the game the NLSC will still help you and not let you go. Just like what Kate Winslet did to Leonardo DiCaprio in that movie by holding onto him and not letting him die a cold freezing death...wait a minute...ah fock it...

@Ronnie2K How long does it typically take for all the DD partners to approve the patch?

@willb707 I imagine weeks for DD to approve, but it's really up to them dude.

I'm still waiting for it so I can start my association since I want the fixes patch 1.2 provides. Worms Reloaded already has 10 updates..

Not even gonna play any 2k11 until the patch comes out (or if it ever does)

I contacted 2k customer support via email on sunday and I havent recieved a reply at all yet

Seems to me it's the digital developers who need the violins. Their business model is get the game to people more quickly, no stores, no boxes, no CDs to ship. But if there were no DD's the patch would already be in the hands of the folks who play.

So much for quicker delivery.

Seems to me it's you who needs to practice your violin skills. You can whine and bitch all you want here, it's not going to change anything. Do you really think any of us want to give up out precious patches? Doubt it. Just go do us all a favor and buy a 360 with 2K11 and play.

Stop complaining, it gets annoying. I don't see anyone else complaining..

The game is still good without the patch. Sliders take care of that, even though there are some bad bugs and issues with the game I'm having a blast in my first year of association mode and I'm about to start the western conference semi-finals against the Lakers with the Clippers.

I agree that digital distributors take too long to integrate the patch into their systwm, though. It was really 2ksports fault because they didn't have a certain fix and had to pull it back. That one issue probably caused us an extra month to wait because of the holidays.

Tell the DD's to find a business model that works.

Please stop telling consumers to stop complaining.

Well, this isn't a platform to tell DD's that their model sucks. Their forums or the Better Business Bureau is the way to go if you want your minuscule voice heard.

We aren't talking to a consumer, we are talking to a peer, another user, a random statistic of a purchaser who thinks attempting to change the minds of an overall very content PC userbase is going to get him noticed and his opinion to matter.

As we've said before, goto the 2K Forums, goto the Steam forums, go bother Ronnie. Whining on these boards about how DVD users should get the patch before everyone else will get you nowhere here.

Now that's settled let us resume, gentlemen, with our playing...
