Where to buy it?

I have the steam version of Nba2k10, im going to buy pc version of nba2k11, but i have doubts where to buy it. Is it better to buy it making the preorder in gamestop? Do i need to have internet connection to play if i buy the phisical copy there?
Of course in steam you need to have internet connection to play. Also the patches to steam version comes 1 month after the normal one.
So then which is your advice?

You're assuming that last years distribution model will be the same as this years. Whereas 2K9 was Steam-only.

And you don't need an internet connection to play on Steam, it has offline mode.
