Once again, I'm pretty sure the large red light was just for illustration purposes. It could be done in a more discreet/aesthetically pleasing manner. I'd certainly agree that it should be a toggle option, perhaps something you use more in practice than regular gameplay.

I also think we're focusing a little too much on what it would mean for the user. From an AI standpoint, it should mean players trying to get to the spot on the floor where they're most comfortable and want the ball for a shot, post up or drive attempt.

Same way I've never been a fan of hotspots except for use in practice mode where you get to know the areas you need to shoot better.

I've always hated those cell phone bars in 2k. back in NBA Live 98, we didn't have no stinkin cell phone bars, we had to look at the ratings to see who was good at shooting from 3 and who you shouldn't be shooting with at all.

I think it's a good idea and a thing that would make good use of the Synergy data, but I think it should give at least a minimal benefit. Here's why:

1) It would be more realistic. Why do you suppose players prefer to do specific things in specific situations? Because it is more comfortable for them, which automatically means a higher success rate in what they do. So, not giving any boost would be just unrealistic. Of course that creates a huge problem, because logically it would be realistic to punish a player for doing something that particular player wouldn't do making him uncomfortable and they can't do that for obvious reasons.

2) If it doesn't give you any benefits, then it would be just for hardest fans and simulation-heads of which there aren't many. Many gamers would find this feature pointless and turn it off. That would mean that EA spends time, money and effort on something they can't even market that much. Videogames are a business, but many of us want developers working on things we would love to use.

So, even though I think it's a good idea, it would be tricky to implement and make it worth all of the work put in it.

That's just looking at the user assist, though. Even if the user isn't utilising the on-screen display, the AI would still be there which should mean the CPU controlled players are playing like their real life counterparts, trying to get to their favourite spots on the floor and whatnot. Since a lot of Wishlist items revolve around the gameplay being better, more realistic and players performing as they do in real life, it wouldn't be wasted time and effort.

Idea would be cool for online/single player, but playing against someone on the same screen it could be a cheap/confusing tactic to get pass a defender.

My wishlist.
1A. An edit option to let us determine how many shots the cpu players gets before the game.
Give us a total of like 80-100 shots.. Exp: Melo-30 shots / Felton-10 / Chandler-5 / Jr.Sm-15 / Stat-14

1B. Same as above but percentage based instead. Probably the better idea.
Have the official Live percentage there so we can see.

2. Some sort of challenge modes where we have to limit a star/scorer who's out to score 50, 40 on us. Reason for that idea above.
Other challenges where you have to score on them or do whatever against such n such odds. Personal goals like dunk on this or that player, hit this guy with a fade, make this many 3s in transition. Hell go extreme with some of the goals, the harder the longer it'll last. Like the old ps2 days of live objections. Just a fun throw in mode to unlock some stuff.

I stress the first ideas because the tendencies are usually set for 12 minute games in Bball video games and many, many people prefer not to have to play the 12 mins just to get that feel. Playing 12 mins usually ends in unrealistic stats, scoring 40-50-60 is almost habitual for a user in video game 12 mins.
