I been with live all up until they stopped making it in 2010.... so when I switched to 2K, the first thing that I hated was the way it felt moving the players around the court. Practice mode in Live 10 still feels better when moving the player around than any 2K game to date.....
And I'm talking singular movement with the player, not interactions with other players and animations and whatnot, Live could never nail that down as they had their infamous ICe Skating issues for many years....
but with Live you felt very connected to the player you were controlling, while 2K felt heavy and bloaty, not streamlined in a way.

Finally this year though with 2K13 they nail it pretty friggin good, to where it feels real nice.... Chris Paul feels like Chris Paul, grounded, strong but deceptively quick.... Derrick Rose feels light on his feet like he can explode anytime and anyplace he wants too.... but still got a long ways to go however, at times with 2K I literally feel like I'm jumping from one animation into the next, as opposed to just dribbling and moving with my player

one thing however neither game has never solved nor ever will as far as this gen consoles are concerned, is PLAYER SPACING... 9 outta 10 times you run into your own guys who for some reason don't understand where to go

For anyone making the switch from Live to 2K this year, I'd recommend changing the right stick controls to "Absolute" so that left is always to the player's left hand, right to the player's right hand, similar to Freestyle control. To me that method makes a lot more sense than the default option, which changes things around depending on the camera and player's position on the court. I don't like that approach as I feel it's contrived, but the "Absolute" setting makes the controls feel a lot better, a lot more logical in my opinion.

I agree to the absolute setting. I think it's a bit easier for the brain to adjust to the viewing angle when looking at your player with regards to the ballhandler's position and direction.
