Live 2011 never existed, Live died with 10. Then it became Elite 11, which was cancelled.

And there won't be either a Live or Elite 12.

Next game will be Fall of 2012, from the people who make Madden.

They need to return to the name "NBA Live". "NBA Elite 13" just doesn't roll off the tongue well.

If Elite/Live/Something 2013 isn't a totally amazing game, then EA is dead for basketball fans.

With all that happened with NBA Elite 11, I reckon they'll leave that name behind. A return to NBA Live wouldn't be so bad but I wouldn't be surprised if they re-brand again.

Technically speaking, it was the only one that was axed. Following its cancellation, they elected to move development to EA Tiburon and take another year before their next sim oriented release.

I think the name "nba live" should r.i.p and we only remember the good times we had with it.

I can see EA struggling with there sim to pull people away from the 2k crowd but i really hope that they can make a decent comeback and get back to basics.

The "NBA Live" name might actually have a bit of nostalgia now in the wake of the NBA Elite 11 debacle, so it probably won't be a terrible move to bring it back. Since they have committed to a re-branding though and the first attempt now has a lot of negative connotations, a brand new name might be the way to go. Of course, the only way they're going to be able to appease the fans and silence the skeptics/critics is to put out a quality product next year.

It was their own decision, to take the extra time to work on the game. There's no comeuppance here.
