I was a huge fan of NBA Live. I even enjoyed Live 07 and could not see why it was so hated. This changed though when I downloaded the Elite 11 demo. I realize its only a demo and before I downloaded it, I was extremely sceptic about all of the criticisms. The demo starts out promising with it prompting you to create your own persona for the become legendary mode but goes downhill when the tutorials start. The new controls, to me, are very clunky and are very hard to use and I realize that this was my first time playing the demo and experiencing the controls, but it was awful. During the exhibition games, I often found myself switching to the old controls, which were also changed, and still struggling. I don't understand why the dev.'s got rid of excelloration. In fact, why change any of the controls at all? The game was fine the way it was. The real issues were (to me) the absence of a Be-a-Pro mode, the lacking dynasty mode and general gameplay issues. They've included the Be-a-Pro mode and I can't say anything about the dynasty mode yet, but the gameplay is terrible. I realize that this is a demo and the final product might be completely different, but until I see anything different, for the first time in 6 years, I'm buying 2K over Live.
