idea for new shooting system more like real basketball

I like the sound of the new control for nba elite 11 but i'd like the shoot button to be up on the stick for the hands control whether its left or right stick like it's supposedly going to be one your feet and the other your hands. what you should do for a high percentage shot is get it up straight to the top at the pace for how far out you are(quickly for outside shots and slower for inside shots), so if you deviate left or right going up on the stick too much it would lower the percentage by hitting the left or right rim so it would not go in, too quickly going up for an inside shot would rim out far side or hit the backboard and rim out far side, and too slow would hit the backboard and hit the near side rim or rim out near side, choosing backboard or not is depending on how much pressure there is on the ball handler and his positioning to the basket. too quickly going up for an outside shot would rim out far side or hit the backboard, and too slow would air ball rarely or rim out near side. being too slow when getting challenged for a shot would increase greatly the chance of being blocked(this would make it more likely to get blocked inside like it is in real basketball! cause you need to go straight up quicker and release). maybe if you thought you were going to get blocked you could not release the shot at the top of the jump shot and do it late and it would be just like what you did for the speed of the initial upward movement but released later and maybe a bit less percentage of going in! not like in all the current basketball games where if you don't release at the top of your jump shot you miss for sure and it's just random where you miss too if you miss!
just an idea to see what you think!

Isn't that exactly what they're doing?

Sort of. Your release timing is your distance, though. Release too late and the ball goes long, too quickly and it comes up short. Same with deviating left (left of basket)to right(right of basket).
choosing backboard or not is depending on how much pressure there is on the ball handler and his positioning to the basket.

The idea of the Hands On control system is to give you control, and take away contextual things. Your suggestion makes it contextual. You have control of your bank shots at any angle. Only thing that will be funny about a straight away bank shot is that your player will be coming down from the peak of his jump.

I personally think they should reverse this because the power of the jumpshot comes from the shooters legs and if they are coming down from their peak they are only using their upper body strength which should result in a flatter or at least shorter shot, imo.

A quicker release is a shorter shot?

Yeah. Releasing too early results in the shot being short.

Hmm. That is a tad counter-intuitive, as you mentioned. In fact, one of the tips for long-range shooting on Better Basketball's shooting DVD is to merely release quicker, thus utilising the power better and throwing in a bit more momentum for good measure.

Noticed you posted this in the Wishlist section too. For future reference, please don't post the same thread in multiple sections as it just divides the conversation. Thanks. :)

um.. i actually didn't know how they were doing the shooting i promise and if it's similar enough to what i've put then i'm definately going to buy it just to try out the revolutionary controls which make it more like real basketball like i wanted! thanks for telling me though.
