and we will have to pay for editing FXG and CMG formats?;)

Yes, as many people were requesting and requesting the feature, but only jrlocke was ready to donate; I mean, he had donated previously and told, he would donate more, when FXG files are able to be edited. Anyway, he, STOMP and some other guys will get the full version for free.

Vl@d i cant remember in the next version will we be able to delete players :?: thanks man

Nope, bro, DB-Core II doesn't allow this. And v. 1.0 will use all its abilities. I don't know, when I have time to develop DB-Core III, which will allow to delete and add players and other things - maybe in the fall.

so i supose in next release we will be able to edit headband colours?

Yes, nearly all jerseys' stuff, stored in the roster, will be editable, except a couple of parameters for Generic Jersyes, which I couldn't define, I mean, changing those values gives no visual effect.

switch the iff file with one of the uh/ua1000.iff (create a team) files and i bet those values with change something

even if you cant figure it out and it doesnt seem to do anything, leave it editable and just label it something like that rating for players
Opinions are my own.

What is the maximum height then?

As it's written in the tutorial ;)

Min: 128 cm (4’2.4”)
Max: 383 cm (12’6.8”)

Still, everyone over 7.8-7.9 starts to behave badly under the rim. )))

im sorry i havent read but what is the difference between free version and license? i was thinking that u doing it for all and who CAN donate - can donate u,but now u r talking that we must buy license.is it a good idea? do 2k sports know about it?

Re: REDitor (Current v. 0.7.2)

Postby Vl@d Zola Jr. on Sat May 15, 2010 9:49 pm

I don't know for now.
The prices will be from $10 to $30 for different license types.

But, if you compare free functions of REDitor to 2k9 editors', you will see, that RED can edit much more things, connected with players (including correctly editable names) + edit some teams' stuff + edit colleges + edit staff (although, in 1.0 this won't be for free, but you will be able to use limited abilities of 0.7.2 for staff-editing, of course) + scripting-system + cm/feet representation.
So, I suppose, even free functionality of RED outperforms the previous year editors' (except, editing FXG files). And, I suppose, it's fair to charge for advanced functionality. ;) And I'm not going to go clubbing or whatever else for this money. I'm selling those functions, because I have some purposes, like helping my native village and neighbour villages (where the average salary is about $300 per month, that is about $70-75 per week or $1,5 for each working hour, so you see, for example, people can't afford to buy many books for kids). And, at least, I need to pay my electricity bill out.
Anyway, one russian considers me to be greedy, not providing him (or his community, I'm not sure) with free license. This is so ridiculous.

Vl@d Zola Jr., If you buy a license right when you start the license thing, will you have it for the rest of ur life? I mean, when the newer version version comes out, you wont need to pay anything to get the newest features?

You'll have to pay for editors for future games, if they are released, probably with the discount.
But for all versions of REDitor for NBA 2K10 you'll need to pay only once (so, yes, you won't need to pay for newer features). Although, I'm not sure, that the version, next to 1.0, will be released earlier, than in mid-August.

and Vlad, pls dont take it personal but taking money in such regardless way - u just sucking money by every method from whoever u can.It was very nice in begining, when every person who can donate, has been donating u,but now - u r using current situation to earn as much money as u can.U forgot something - not much people would pay for ''license'' to edit 10 new features.yeah u will earn some money, but u have forgotten that when u earning money in such way,u losing humanity and kindness and both of them r much more expensive than money.
Offcourse u undestand that i cannt pay 50 bucks for blabla editor.Even yr best friend cannt throw away 50 $.So it is unfair for that people who cannt buy editor. What about them? can u tell us what will be included in license version? and what in free version of Vlad Zolas Editor. Thanks

Postby Vl@d Zola Jr. on Sat May 15, 2010 11:54 pm

u just sucking money by every method from whoever u can

That's a very strong and very false statement.

"to pay or not to pay" - that's everyone's own decision, so I'm not using the current situation to grab the money - I've spent for electricity alone more money, than I've got from donations. I'm not making you pay an arm and a leg. The prices are rather low, especially, for western users. I don't have regional representatives, who make prices 3-times lower in Russia, comparing to the USA. We are here in the Net, and everyone is equal to licensing here. If you don't want to pay - I don't make you do this.
And I don't think, that it's a regardless way, it's a normal way for all modern program developers. I also don't think, that I'm losing humanity and kindness, because I've mentioned my purposes, and they are noble. And guys, who helped me, they'll recieve the full version for free.
Also, I'm not going to work, being supported by only my enthusiasm alone. Working this way, you'll easily get hungry and cold.
I suppose, it's unfair for guys, who have sent money, to have the same functionality as the guys, who have sent nothing. It's a capitalism world, we're living in now. Unfortunately, nobody gives kids from my village books for free, so, I have to buy them for little guys. And this needs money. And those guys mean to me more, than dudes, whom I've never seen. I don't consider myself to be unhumane to guys, whom I've never seen, if I don't give them anything for free. And, actually, I've already given you lots for free - look at the functionality. You have to thank me, because I could easily satisfy not your needs (and you don't know, how to program and don't know cryptography atl all), but work on some other projects, instead, you are starting to accuse me.

If I'm not right, let Tankăr hit me in my forehead with his lightning.

Actually, I'm not going to flame here, especially in the point of view, that the version hasn't even been released yet.
I've understood just one thing: russians like to get everything on freeload, when it comes for them to pay, most of them (LEIK, it's not about you; you were nice to talk to) start accusing you of being unhumane (it's the third time already, although, the program isn't released yet). I'm even sure, that you have a pirate version of NBA 2K10 itself... Other guys don't start trying to find false with me.

Also, as I've mentioned, the guy, who develops editor for MLB Baseball 2K10, also asked for money, and everyone agreed to pay, nobody started accusing him. I also suppose, that if I hadn't known russian language, noone would have accused me of being greedy.

So the fact is: advanced features in the next version will be charged.
I'm not going to answer other posts, containing the info, that I'm greedy, bad, unfair, unhumane, etc., etc., etc.

Re: REDitor (Current v. 0.7.2)

Postby SkyLine03LT on Sun May 16, 2010 1:45 am

To be frank, I dont think a lot of ppl will pay money for a roster editor, unless its not much. $30 is more than the game itself, so this is kind of ridiculous.

There is another reason why not a lot of people will buy it- Right now a lot of ppl download Reditor just to see whats what, they dont care about real editing (like retro roster mods etc), so its just for fun. Others are amateurs in patching or any kind of editing too. So I think only real patchers will buy it (and there's only like 15 of them in this forum), plus half (or maybe more) of those real patchers will not be able to pay.

Consider not making the price any higher than $10, or you will not be successful in this money thing. Im not being offensive or anything, because I understand what you are trying to do. (Y) Im just saying, that 50x$10 is more than 5x$30
