Patching: what programs and stuff do you need?

I want to learn how to patch, and one of the things I thought I'd start with to learn is how to change skin/arm colors, I want to do this because I figure it'd be easy plus I have a cyberface in my game that has arms that seem to look lighter then the actual face. So what software do I need to download to learn how to do this? Is there any good help topics on this site? I tried searching but really didn't seem to know what was what

to export/import texture use iff editor or jersey editor...but they cant use in 64 bit OS i believe...and if you have 64 bit OS,maybe you can try to use 3d moodtools..
and you need some photoshop or other sftware to edit texture...happy patching bro
