Talk about NBA 2K10 here.

http://nbavg.org/?p=8Seriously this ass rapes the living hell out of anything EA has announced about Live 10. This game sounds amazing.

New screens here:
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/sports/ ... eader;moreLove the news about the court/player spacing and the commentary, but I won't be convinced until I get my hands on the demo. If they can't fix defenisve issues from 2k9 I might pass on this year's installment.
OT, I picked up 2k8 again, the gameplay is so much superior than 2k9, it's incredible.

Hell, I'm just pumped for the D-League and the My Player thing.
Thu Aug 06, 2009 12:44 pm
Loving the D-League addition, and it sounds like I'll be able to keep the commentary turned on for the first time playing a 2k game.
Thu Aug 06, 2009 1:15 pm
Yup! I love what 2k is doing and has done. I am so glad they are making this game for the PC too. That completely changed the way I viewed 2k.
Now if we could just get this site to abandon the EA affiliation and become a site for both games. EA ditched us years ago....ditch them? Sorry Tim, Andrew but about time.

+1, it was a blessing in disguise when EA Sports decided to stop making LIVE for us, PC gamers! Wow D-LEAGUE, SUMMER LEAGUE, and 82games.com! this is deep!

This game will be incredible. I will not stop playing My Player career, I am addicted to these modes.

2k is awesome! Hello D-League.
Thu Aug 06, 2009 4:41 pm
I just hope they fix the footplanting, implement some help D and make it hard to score while standing under the basket. The turbo meter and non-canned double team animations sound great as well as the improved spacing and thousands of new animations.
D-league is pretty meh to me as it's basically playing with a bunch of 63-71 rated guys on a NBA game engine.

I wonder how the ratings will be. I'm nervous that people will be able to cheese with superstars more. Seems like the elite are staying high 90's and everyone else will drop some.

I don't imagine that it will make the game play too differently. It's just the numbers will have different values. An average player will now be rated 50ish, instead of 75 and the Awvee Storeys of the world will now have overall ratings in the vicinity of 25-30. It probably just makes the elite players jump off the page more.

I don't think we should get too excited. I mean, they don't even warm up in an aircraft hangar... and I have read NOTHING about having lots of new shoe types and the correct coloured socks. This game must only be 70% complete if they'd leave crucial gameplay elements like those out.

Then there's a new rating spread, which--similar to how the developers of Madden NFL 10 extended the attribute spread among players in the game--better differentiates among the NBA's elite, good, mediocre, and Brian Scalabrine.

It's great that they acknowledge the fact that it's Thanksgiving.

They did that in 2k9 with a brief Kevin Harlan intro for thanksgiving and Christmas, but the turkey head is a nice little touch.

Oh. So that's the purpose of the turkey on the scoreboard. Dumb christian.

Yeah, in Halloween as well. D-League, my dream has come true

Now can I genuinly say that I'm excited for an NBA game. At least they told us something concrete.
Sat Aug 08, 2009 1:06 am
Nice touches, and the D-League is definately a good step towards realism because not every rookie that is made in-game is going to jump straight into the NBA and take someone current player's spot.
Sat Aug 08, 2009 4:41 am
I hope it is a real career mode and not just a story mode like NBA 09 had. I am going to get whichever game has the best career mode.
Sat Aug 08, 2009 10:30 am
good they put a graphic of who's facing who. i think in 2k9 there wasn't any..
Sun Aug 09, 2009 3:51 am
Hell, I'll buy this game if it's priced $20 again.
Sun Aug 09, 2009 6:59 am
I'd buy it, if it was as good as 2K9, but it seems that 2K10 is going to be a lot better. I'm definetely going to buy it. I like most of the additions (not sure about calculation of ratings yet).
Sun Aug 09, 2009 7:30 am
A larger rating scale is always preferred because it allows for greater differentiation between the players.
Hopefully their realization of this will help them on the way to getting rid of overall ratings. (Not just hiding them, but eliminating the entire concept.)
