How do you give a player a Face ID, and does this mean we can't give created players custom faces?

i'm not good at english , so i think there is sth i have not depiction accurate
No , you can use the Modifier which named NBA 2K9 Mini Editor , you can find there is a Face ID

e.g. if you set this 023 , so you must have a file named png023.iff in your game folder

so you can give create players a custom faces like MJ's

Kris, basically just just search for the 1st four or five (as long as these numbers will make ur search be unique) attributes of a player using hex workshop ( shooting close, mid and stuff, but remember to convert them into hex value instead of decimal ones ), and go 13c backwards, change that value to 00, then save the ROS file. Open the ros again in hades roster editor, go to the player you edited just now (maybe also assign him with a new iff here if you want to), save it, then re-load the roster in game. You should be able to see him with the iff file you assigned just now if you've done everything correctly.
Anyway, it's pretty straight forward, but if you still get confused or screwed up, just post your questions here, or wait for his graphical tutorial tmr

DickPurple, in this case, try to change the player's skin color in the game to another color (e.g. very dark), save the roster, re-load it in hex workshop, and repeat the previous steps u did :P

First of all GREAT THANKS for tutorial. (Y) With this I can use any add-on Jordan (in iff file) with my :!: roster. :applaud:
To all who little bit confused:
I used Hex editor- no problem.
1, Create a player - write down close, mid, 3pt, free throw, lay up, dunking attributes (like :92, 87, 75, 85, 75, 80)
2, Conver this numbers to HeXa and write down -- a little help:
http://www.squarebox.co.uk/hcalc.html
3, Open roster with hexeditor, select search function, write the converted numbers (eg. 5C 57 4B)
If you write it correctly it will find that line (My editor only search 3 numbers so when it finds a line I looked the next 3 value also to be sure that is the searched palyer). So You have the adress, then use again the calculator to get new adress.
4, Change 04 value to 00 and save.
5, IMPORTANT, :!: before launch game, open roster with Hades editor and change any value and save. :!: If you miss this step game would say that roster file is corrupted.
6, Check in the game --if it was right player head disapaerd.
7, Quit an launch Hades editor and change your player Face ID to whatever you want and save.
(I changed the downloaded Jordan iff file name to png943.iff, copy in NBA2k9 folder and gave Face id 943. So in game I got the downloaded Jordan under my created player name and it has the original hidden Jordan portrai. After all you could change anything (skin, attri, tend, name, etc.) exept the head shape.

with Hex to convert the attributes values (like 92,87,75,85) you can go to TOOLS and select BASE CONVERTER, whereas to do the operations like "045F0FA8-13c" (to get the new address) you can go in TOOLS again and select HEX CALCULATOR.....it seems to me...

How close is the 04 value to your hex values? I'm having trouble finding the 04 to change to 00

Nevermind... Got it... Thanks!

EDIT: Have a problem now... When I go to play the game.... it crashes to the desktop. Anyone know what could be causing this? I load them up in the Roster Manager, and their heads are on their bodies, and everything looks good, profile pic loaded... but when I go to play the game... it crashes to desktop after the loading movie...

EDIT2: It works just fine in Street mode... but it won't work playing an actual game. what gives? I can play 5 on 5 w/ all of my created players, and the assigned portraits and cyberfaces work wonderfully... but when I try to play in an arena... doesn't work.

Edit 3: Finally figured it out. I was copying dbm_chest, etc... just needed to have the pngxxx.iff, not everything. Everything is working perfectly now. Overall, very nice. Still have some things I need to fix.
