Applying roster updates to CMG/FXG/ROS files

Postby osori on Tue Oct 27, 2009 6:22 am

(v4) Added some additional checking routines.
(v3) Added option of copying to rosters. Now can copy shoes or signatures too. Unified the files into one.
(v2) Added file for updating association saves as requested. But cannot guarantee if it is bug-free... Please backup your save files :!:

Hello. This is my first post in this forum.
[I found out that 2k-boards are not a good place for getting constructive feedbacks :( ]

My goal : A program that copies the ratings, tendencies, signatures, accessories of a roster to a My player save/Association save file that was created with another roster. Or copy the infos to another roster. And of course, you can choose which info to copy. Such as copying only the shoes and signatures. (So that roster editors can now merge their work).

Current version only copies the ratings, tendencies,hot-spots,shoes, Signatures. Could you guys please test this out and help me improve this. If your "my player" gets his ratings modified after applying this program please send your save file to suhooh !at! gmail.com so that I can identify the problem and fix it.

- How to use :
0. Backup the file.
1. Download the attached file. Run oso2k10.exe
2. Put it inside the folder that contains the source roster, target My player save (Or Association save or a roster file)
3. Run the executable file. Follow instructions on console.

================================================================
- If you guys have analyzed the structure of roster.ros, could you please share that info with me?

:applaud: looks promising

Vl@d Zola Jr. and I have been working with the roster files and are currently looking for where the f###.iff file references are and how the game controls crowd attendance through the roster. If you got any ideas on that, that would be good to know for us. But if you have questions on player ID's and such, you might want to get in contact with him.
Opinions are my own.

Great tool man, now that I've transfered the roster to my player I get the needed production from D-Wade :D . I'm sick and tired of loosing because he averages only 19 pts a game  . Well, you found a cure and it works! Thx a lot! :applaud:

i have come across a problem when importing the rosters to my player where my player is currently rated at 62 but when i use the problem everything worked with the ratings of other players but my player also gets his ratings changed from 62 to 69 with all his shot attributes up the 90s and speed to 70, anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

p.s love the concept of the program, love the idea

nwa115// Could you please send me your My player save file and the roster you used to update it?

And now I added the option of copying shoes and signatures. And can now copy roster -> roster, roster -> My player, roster -> Association.

MadLaker // Difficulty, Sliders, foul settings gets reset after every match :(. We have to memory edit. I uploaded a post containing the cht file to do it at viewtopic.php?f=122&t=69335&start=50.

towmb //It will be pretty trivial to adjust the program so that it supports season mode too. But I just want to make sure the program is bug-free before I add support for other files.

Hey mate.. Great tool, but I don't quite get how it works..

I want to upload my roster file (nmed 2009.ros) to my association file (named 76ers.fxg).. Which file do I open first? oso2k10.exe or CRC? And what are the instructions next? And in what folder these files should be?

Can you please explain it step by step? I appreciate it.. :)

what do you meen? reset to what?
(It's a bug? have to wait for THE patch again, if that's the case....
But for me the difficulty saves correclty, haven't tested other things...)
I understand the setting freeze, but we can't import sliders through tsearch, can we?

Thnx!

Kova19 // Run oso2k10.exe 123 [enter] 2009.ros [enter] 76ers.fxg [enter]. wait.
crc.exe is only needed for ppl that hex edit the file.

Madlakers // The patch has nothing to do with it. (The upcomming patch will only let you adjust game minutes, nothing else. 2k devs are either LAZY or LAME). I meant the settings get reset to default settings. (Difficulty to pro, all sliders values to "50", so on. So we have to use memory editor and fix the values to prevent it from returning back to default values after each match...)

Thanks a lot!

One more question. Does the 'roster transaction' to association also include player salaries?

I don't know if this could help, but when I played my player mode and I played for Nets, we visited Minnesota for our first game and I've
noticed that the crowd attendance was just small. I mean, not really the default "Sold Out" arena.
