How to change the music in the game
By: refuze
I've known how to replace the music in PC EASports games for a while now. I'm not exactly sure if any of you know how to do it but I've written a tutorial to help you out.
First off, you need a program called the Ditty Importer.
ftp://ftp.ea.com/pub/easports/misc/nhl2002/wimpditt.exe
The program allows people to add their own songs to the NHL series game. It also works for other EA titles too so don't get confused.
The next thing you have to do is to go get the MP3s of the songs you want. I'm not going to be involved with any piracy issues but it's safer for you to download MP3s of songs you actually have, such as in a CD or tape. Do whatever you want though, just don't get caught
You can only get 24 total songs in which 12 of them is for the main menu screen and the other half is for the 1-on-1 and practice modes.
After you get the MP3s you want, use the Ditty Importer to convert the .mp3 files to .asf (music files which EA games use). Rename each .asf file to the following:
xsong1
xsong2
xsong3
It keeps on repeating until xsong12.
After you've done all of that, put the files into your audio\music folder from the NBA Live 2003 directory.
The filenames used in the 1-on-1 and practice modes are xmsong.
Note: .asf files are incredibly large and can reach up to 15MB each. It mainly depends on how long the song is.
