Judges Name:

1. Back-up your nbalive08.exe
2. Open your game.exe using any Hex-editing program.
3. Find the text-string Judges

You'll see there the names of the judges in the game and their judges package.
You'll just need to edit it with the ones you like. Just remember the names of the judges has limits
You can only place the names with the same length or shorter than the judges' names.

4. Save it.

And another thing, You can't change Vince Carter's name in the game. I don't know why. But it's not in the game exe.
If you can find it. Post it here thanks :)

Start-Up team:

If you want to change the start-team in your game. Here's what you need to do.

1. Back-up your nbalive08.exe
2. Open your game.exe using any Hex-editing program.
3. Find the text-string Spurs or Cavaliers
You'll notice this one there " TEAMNAME = 'Spurs' .... TEAMNAME = 'Cavaliers'. " (without the quotes)
Note if the teamname of the team you want have more letters than Spurs or Cavaliers. You can adjust it like this:
" TEAMNAME = 'Mixers'... TEAMNAME ='Elasto Painters'. " (again without the quotes)
As you can notice, in the there are 4 dots/periods here " TEAMNAME = 'Spurs' ...." but this has only 3 " TEAMNAME = 'Mixers'..."
And you'll also see that there are spaces on it. You can type on that spaces like I did on the "Cavaliers" into "Elasto Painters"
TEAMNAME = 'Cavaliers'.
TEAMNAME ='Elasto Painters'.

4. Save it.

Start-Up player 1 on 1:

1. Make a back-up of your roster, in case anything go wrong
2. Open your roster file using DB commander.
3. Find the two players you want on the statr-up of the 1 on 1 mode.
4. Remember their playerid.
5. Now find the playerid 350 and 1121. They're the players start-up of 1 on 1 mode.
6. Swap the playerids of the two players you want to 350 and 1121.

example I want James Yap vs Paul Lee on the start up. Their playerids are 99 and 266. I will make james yap playerid to 350
and paul lee's id to 1121. Now there are two 350 and 1121 on the playerid. Make the original 350 into 99 and 1121 into 266.

And you're done.

*Note: If you want to retain their stats, do the same thing for the career.dbf.

Start Up Players for Slamdunk Contest

1. Make a back-up of your roster, in case anything go wrong
2. Open your roster file using DB commander.
3. Find the players you want to be in the dunk contest.
4. Remember their playerid.
5. Now find the playerid 1207, 1346, 1349 and 2018. They're the players on the dunk contest.
6. Swap the playerids of the players you want to 1207, 1346, 1349 and 2018.

*Note: If you want to retain their stats, do the same thing for the career.dbf.

Start Up Players for 3pt Shootout:

1. Make a back-up of your roster, in case anything go wrong
2. Open your roster file using DB commander.
3. Find the players you want to be in the 3pt shootout.
4. Remember their playerid.
5. Now find the playerid 468, 517, 579, 642, 947 and 1173. They're the players on the 3pt shootout.
6. Swap the playerids of the players you want to 468, 517, 579, 642, 947 and 1173.

*Note: If you want to retain their stats, do the same thing for the career.dbf.

Edit:
NoTe:
If you are using both DB Commander and NBA Live Editor you should always remember to do this.
On the start up 1on1, 3pt shootout and Slamdunk contest, you should also swap the appearanceid, why? So that even if you use the NBA Live Editor you can edit the correct player.
