How smooth can that system run?

Postby T-MAC-power on Sun Sep 26, 2010 5:23 am

Hi guys,
As being an old NBA-Live veteran, i was away for a long time from the forum because of my PC (P4 2.4, Geforce4) is ancient for NBA Live since 2006. I can play 2005 OK. The question, my friend has a quite old PC whose specs are:

Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHZ (E7300)
Geforce 8500GT :(
2GB memory
19 inch HP monitor
Vista Home Premium w/o SP1

How smooth is that PC and will it make NBA Live 2010 playable? I see elite 2011 won't be released for PC.

I know 8500GT is too slow for it, just want to get 30 fps at least in some details.

Any ideas?

Cheers

NBA Live 10 wasn't released for the PC either.

With those specs, you shouldn't have any trouble running the PC releases of NBA 2K and everything up until NBA Live 08 (the last PC release for NBA Live) should run fine too, barring any compatibility issues with Windows Vista.

Andrew, thanx for your reply, WoW..It's too bad that the latest NBA Live is 2008 for PC. I don't know what EA Sports is focusing on, maybe the console market has overtaken PC gaming market, they think.

So, we don't have any change playing more recent NBA Live game than 2008 with latest roster updates? What about NBA 2K10 for PC? What's the difference between it and NBA Live series? (Seems producer is not EA)

It's too disappointing. They want us to buy PS3, XBOX :(

The consoles have been outselling the PC version for years.

NBA 2K10 is a completely different game. I'd suggest checking out the NBA 2K10 section for impressions, patches and more information.

Thanks Andrew. BTW, is it really required to install SP1 for Vista in order to play 2008 with no problems?

I shouldn't think so.

I know this is off-topic but i want to know the same thing for Nba 2k11 or 2k10. How much playable is nba 2k10 or 11 on geforce 8500gt?

Because nba 2kxx series seems the last warrior for PC series to play. Thanks EA!

Should be playable, you might just have to adjust some detail settings.
