Fans Booing a player

Postby PrinceDassyFresh on Wed Dec 02, 2009 6:17 am

I dont know if anyone else noticed this, but I was playing in Toronto with Vince Carter on my team (Orlando) and the fans booed him everytime he touched the ball, thought it was hilarious. Do they do this with alll the players with formr teams?

Not all players, I believe that's just one of the situation specific arena effects for the Raptors, like the Boston crowd chanting "Beat LA" when you're playing with or against the Lakers in Boston.

Raptors fans seem to be a pretty passionate bunch on the whole, not forgetting players who they feel snubbed or otherwise disrespected the team. Kobe still gets booed pretty enthusiastically in Denver, can't remember if that's in the game or not.

It's not an uncommon or completely unique chant, the Boston crowd is just an obvious example.

thats pretty obvious haha, but I like the fans getting into the game, its makes the game more interesting. They have the MVP chants but so far they only chant MVP for the guys over 90 in rating instead of the bets player on your team

know what you are talking about...carter was there untill almost mid 2000 and he left on a bad note. he wasn;t playing because of injuries and was complaining, then went to New Jersey and started doing 360's and windmills again. Fans aren;t stupid.....they know a player with heart and VC has no pulse.

Boozer gets booed in Cleveland.

I was delighted by this the first time I had the Cavs play the Jazz.

I can see the logic in it though. It'd be kind of silly if you took a bench warmer, had him play like a superstar for a night and the crowd started up with the "M-V-P" chants. No doubt it's a situation where the home crowd would go crazy but probably not with that chant specifically.

Im averaging over 30 ppg with Carter and less than 20 with KG, ut KG gets the MVP chants. Ill have to check who leads in the other stats aswell, that could be why

It could be specific to a selection of players in that case.

well sorry for not being glued to Sportscenter 24/7. I still consider the 1990's to be like yesterday. these 9 well.. 10 years have passed by too fast for me to remember specfic dates or years.

I like the booes, their really loud, i wish they'd do it on blowouts too for the entire team

You don't have to watch Sportscenter to know that the 1990s were almost 10 years ago.
