guideline for fixing the rating for dunk/layup frequency... as to it having an effect????
so for example, the current Hawks lineup in nba live 10
formula for dunk ratings y=DPG dunks per game
source:
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/dunk-o-meter/yearlyrank Player Pos Team Dunks/games= y X 41(half nba season)= RATING
16 Josh Smith SF ATL 102/69 60 or 102 dunks divided by 69 games = DPG 1.478 (x 41)= 60
37 Al Horford PF ATL 69/67 42
88 Maurice Evans SF ATL 34/80 17
97 Marvin Williams SF ATL 33/61 22 (played more games than Evans but higher dunk per game)
142 Joe Smith PF CLE 19/57 13
187 Zaza Pachulia C ATL 12/77 6
219 Joe Johnson SG ATL 8/79 4
240 Mario West SG ATL 6/53 4
290 Jason Collins C MIN 2/31 2
anybody else who didnt get a dunk last year = rating of 0 (mike bibby ect..), as far as rookies go, thats not something i can come up with
other examples using formula above...
8 LeBron James SF CLE 128/81 64
20 Andrew Bynum C LAL 100/50 82
9 Dwyane Wade SG MIA 128/79 66
1 Dwight Howard C ORL 201/79 104 (rating tops out at 99 of course)
117 Tim Duncan PF SA 26/75 14
67 Vince Carter SG NJ 46/80 23
51 Kobe Bryant SG LAL 59/82 29
36 Kevin Garnett PF BOS 70/57 50
204 Ben Gordon SG CHI 9/82 4
2 Shaq O'Neal C PHO 178/75 97
174 Dirk Nowitzki PF DAL 14/81 7
i hope this can be of use
