Superstar Mode is beyond Cheat. EA really needs to focus on Interior Defense because the computer just waltz in the key and no one there to contest. I might have to start off ball floating around. But overall, the Demo didn't do this game any justice because it's 200 times better than the demo

Watch your cpu teammates on defense. I think it was better in Live 09. I don't know what happened.

IIRC, the Live 10 dev team mentioned in some blogs that defense was greatly improved compared to last year.
They better patch that shite up.

Defense was improved for the CPU, as it's quite hard to just waltz in the lane and put up baskets. If you think your getting to the basket with ease, your going to end up seeing a lot of those collision animations. It just seems like my cpu controlled teammates don't put in the same effort.

I got the game for PS3 and I'm not 100% sold.

Have played 3 full games, seems the right players take most of the shots, i.e. Vs Miami Wade burned me and against San Antonio it was balanced between Duncan, Parker and Manu with Jefferson top scoring due to fast break dunks.

The CPU doesn't sub anywhere enough, I remember that being a bug a few years ago in Live, I hope the patch addresses that.

The graphics are very odd, these player models are horrible.

After playing 2k for past 2 years I thought I would come back to Live, I hope I haven't made a mistake.

I'd have to disagree there, I've been playing 12 minute quarters and the CPU has been dividing up the minutes fairly well. There aren't quite as many timeouts as there should be though and the default foul sliders could probably stand to be tweaked, so there probably should be a few more stoppages and hence substitutions. It's better than last year though, with players sliding over to another position to accommodate a sub coming in and greater use of the secondary position.

I realise Steve Kerr's commentary are rather same old same old from previous Live releases... not a lot of new commentaries added.

That's not surprising, given that they're trying to add to the bank of play-by-play audio rather than recording an entirely new commentary each year. We've also yet to benefit from the dynamic commentary updates.

You seem to be impatient on defense judging by your skittish movements which leaves some defensive assignments being open.

Andrew, I was playing 6min quarters and my team would sub however the cpu used starters for nearly 90% of the game. I tried 12min quarters last night and I agree they do divide up the minutes, perhaps no bug however they should be relative to the minutes you play.

The game play definitely has improved, playing around with the sliders more now to get the right balance. Have you found a slider setting that results in more shooting fouls etc?

Just up the fatigue slider. I did that in the demo and they subbed quite well.

Yeah, I'm learning to be patient LOL. I lost a lot of that this year, maybe this game will get me back on the right path lol

Got the game last week, but only started playing it over the last few days.

I thought the 09 product had really improved in terms of gameplay, and right now I'm really disappointed with 2010. My initial thoughts is that it is difficult to play decent defence and rebound effecectively of your own accord. I also don't like the switching of numerous controls, and the ditching of the 'How To' playing guides .... the quick tips in the hangar don't really help, as without being able to pass to an opponent or have your play challenged, half the stuff is irrelevant until you get into some realy gameplay.

Gameplay-wise, shooting appears more fluent. Too many easy turnovers though, and stuff like unchallenged layups can easily turn into poor shot attempts.

Andrew I assume you are giving the game a good burn. Looking forward to sliders you may suggest, might make the playing experience a bit easier to swallow on my end.

I'd have to disagree there, I feel NBA Live 10 comes a lot closer to the experience I want out of a basketball video game. I'm sure I'll give some slider tweaks a shot in the very near future, but in the meantime the first update has been released for the Xbox 360 and should be out on PS3 later this week. I'll be trying it out at some point today but glancing at the list of fixes and enhancements I think the results will be very pleasing.
