NBA Live 10 freezing?

I just got a ps3 and nba live 10 last week, and today I encountered my first problem. I was the Rockets and I was playing at Atlanta, and it suddenly froze, and then it started to play again. It happened a couple of times in that game. Then I played Dallas, and it happened about 8-9 times. It just freezes for about 4-5 seconds and then it keeps going. I have the patch on the game, but the patch has been on since I first played it. I still haven't tried other games, but hopefully the same thing doesn't happen. Any help?

I would guess to check the disk and see if it isn't scratched or anything.

The disk is completely clean

It seems to be happening to a lot of people following the official updates; it didn't happen to me once with the game out of the box. It still could be replay related though, I've heard that disabling automatic replays has proven to be a viable workaround for some people.

Also it's happening with my FIFA 10 game, so I guess it's maybe my PS3.

From memory, it should be in the game settings menu (or one of the adjacent game options menus).

The only known workaround to avoid the freezing on this game is to go to visual settings and turn the replay buffer off.

I tried going to Visual Settings and all that's there is player indicator, post-basket camera cuts, and pick and roll indicator. I remember seeing the replay buffer option there once, but it's not there now!

Tried it out and it does seem to ward off the freezing issues. axelgomez13, check the visual settings menu from the main menu rather than in Dynasty Mode. Dynasty Mode's visual settings options are different.

I found what the problem was. When I was connected to the internet, an error occured which caused my game to act up. I haven't connected to the internet in days, and everything seems fine.

I tried the main menu visual settings and it's not there either, but it doesn't really matter.

That's strange. It appears under visual settings from the main menu for me but definitely not in Dynasty Mode.

Freezing is back again, and I don't even connect to the internet anymore, but it's not as worse as before. I guess since I don't have the replay buffer option, I can't turn it off, which causes the game to freeze for 1-2 seconds.

It's not under Visual Settings from the main menu? It's definitely there for me but it doesn't appear under the Visual Settings menu that's accessible in Dynasty Mode.

I've had the game about a week, it's worked perfectly up until today and now it freezes in the middle of every single game (played a total of 3 games and then took the disc out because I couldn't stand it anymore). I didn't adjust any settings to make it start freezing and I didn't download any of the updates, so I don't know why it would be perfect for 7 days and then starting today it's totally unplayable. Did anyone figure out what's up with this yet?

Are they supposed to be releasing a patch for this or something? If not, did the previous Live games freeze too? The last one I bought was 04 on ps2 and it was fine, so if 09 doesn't have the freezing problem I might just return 10 and get that instead because it freezes literally every single game.

NBA Live 09 didn't have any lock-up issues. They aren't releasing any more fixes for NBA Live 10 so the freezing issue won't be addressed. As I said it's only happened to me following the two official updates that were released but turning the replay buffer off seems to solve the problem so you might want to give that a try. It's under the Visual Settings menu, the one that's accessible from the main menu (not Dynasty Mode).

I turned off the replay buffer like you said and I've played a few games so far and it's worked fine. What exactly is the replay buffer? It used to only show replays for fouls and a few at the end of every quarter, and now it shows 1 at the end of every quarter and nothing else. A little weird.

Yes,me too but now i have the problem even if I uninstall the update.Have you try it?

Now if I play the original game with replay buffer on I have the problem too.

I think it's something wrong with my save options after the update so the problem still in the CPU when you uninstall the update.Maybe you have to delete all the previous files.

Do you have any lockup with replay buffer off? I haven't them in the original game but I still have them with the update.

I haven't had any lockups with the replay buffer off as yet. I haven't cleared my cache as I don't really want to download all the updates for my other games again if I can avoid it and I'd like the option of playing online, so I'm still playing with the updates.

I did it because I don't have a lot of games so it wasn't a problem to clear the cache.

But I can't understand why the game works fine after the update a couple of days and suddenly the lockups begin.Had you the same problem or the lockups began inmediatelly after the update?

I guess if I delete all the files of NBA Live 10 of mi XBOX then it must work fine again like the first time.Even when i update the game it will have to work without lockups some days too.I will try to see what happen.If not then I must believe the game have change or broke something in my XBOX or.... it's like the game has a limited trial version without problems after the update
