NLSC Matchup - The Unlikely Finals - Game 7 Highlights

Postby Patr1ck on Sat Oct 17, 2009 7:10 am

Andrew and I will be playing a series of games using our favorite teams through Xbox Live. He will be using the Bulls and I will be using the Clippers in an unlikely finals series. The settings are default, which is all star difficulty and 5 minutes and they are being played using The Finals atmosphere.

Here is an HD video of highlights from Game 1.

Damn Andrew... you were getting back in it until you left Gordon alone out there on the wing. He's a killer, bro.

I know, I made some serious defensive lapses there. Fun game though, hopefully you guys will find the rest of the series entertaining. :)

Both of you played great. (Y) Andrew had two great plays with Luol Deng from 3:35 to 3:54. :applaud: Pdub absolutely killed it with Eric Gordon though. I'm definitely looking forward to Game 2.

That Steve Novak 3 was a dagger :P

This thread gives me a reason to come into the Live 2010 section & renewed hope for gameplay for NCAA 2010 (Y)

I'm actually quite impressed with the player versus player games, outside a few shitty animations (scoop layups & that damn skipping that I know Andrew loves since his players always do it :P )

Sad thing is if Live had given me a player dynasty mode, I would've picked up the game. Either way, enough whinging, it's looking good for a Live 2011 purchase though (Y)

Keep this thread going. Hope the Bulls can bounce back but there's no stopping Steve Novak

In the games I have played, Novak is pretty clutch from the perimeter, as long as I don't over use them.

I killed my video card (spilled water, streamed along desk, fell off desk and sucked in by the case fan onto video card)last night as I started on the game 2 highlights. Thank god it was the only thing from my computer that died. Got a new card today and computer is working so game 2 highlights should be up tonight.

They do have new lines as they build upon the bank every year. If they changed the commentators every year, they wouldn't be able to do that.

well, i'm playing nba live 06, cause my computer is too old for 2k basketball games and comentators act the same in this video as in my nba live 06 game. maybe there are some new lines, but i didn't hear them in this video :(

Well, like I said, they're building on the bank of commentary audio each year. That means there are still going to be lines in there that you've heard before. It's not unlike a real NBA broadcast in that respect; it's not like Marv Albert completely changes his nuances, trademark comments and his whole announcing style with each passing NBA season.

Chances are you're not going to hear all the new lines in a seven minute highlight video, you'd actually have to play the game for that. There's a fair bit of chatter about players that is new and updated. Changes have been made since 06 but it's not as though every line is re-recorded or replaced each year. They wouldn't make a lot of progress that way.

Look how hard I had to work for the Kaman dunk at 3:12. It was my only score of the second quarter due to some mistakes and some great defense by Andrew.

That play was very well executed due to fantastic ball movement though.

I personally wouldn't go that far. I actually thought game 1 gameplay looked sweet. Game 2 not so much. One thing that has to be said is that online doesn't appear laggy like NBA 2k10. Seems this year both games have their pros & cons. For one on one online experience, at the moment Live seems better.

P.S. I own NBA 2k10 for PS3 & not Live 2010

Great series so far, there are some small animations here and there that help it feel authentic at times.

I certainly wouldn't deem it horrible to play.

Game 2 was kind of a scrappy affair, I was trying to push the ball a bit more and not setting up for plays quite as much and that led to some sloppy turnovers. Some of the frantic scrambles were fun though, sometimes basketball will break down like that. It wasn't necessarily a pretty game when it was all said and done, I can't take too much credit for the defense as Pat got screwed over on some inside shots that really should've fallen. I think we both had some careless turnovers though and I was fortunate enough to take advantage of them to get a bit of a lead which cushioned against some other sloppy mistakes I made.
