Note from Yaw

On Operation Sports Yaw has posted the following:

Producers on Operation Sports
Hey guys,

I just wanted to inform all of you of what's going to be happening with the producers you have been seeing on OS. With NBA LIVE and NCAA Basketball you have all seen the producers come into the forum and you have all provided great feedback and helped the team improve immensely with our games. As work is beginning on new titles with a lot of exciting ideas going into the game and work still needing to be done on the second update for LIVE 10, unfortunately you're not going to be seeing the producers on the forums as much as you have been in the past.

I'm sure some of you will take as "the producers don't want to listen to us" or "they're only here to pump the game then leave once it's out" and that's not it at all. The producers really appreciate all the feedback that all of you have provided for the game and it has helped the team concentrate on the areas that you guys felt needed the most attention. Unfortunately not every area was able to get love in this year's game but the areas that did get touched were areas the team felt needed the most work and it was through all of your feedback that they went in the direction that the game has taken.

If there is anything that you guys have questions on regarding anything basketball related send me a PM as I do my best to respond to all of them. Sometimes I can't get to them as quickly as I should but I DO respond to them. If you have any other inquiries again feel free to send them my way.

Thanks.

i figured this was going to happen once they started racking up 20 posts a day or so over there

there's no time for it...well, imo there should be no time for it

I do agree but I also think EA shouldn't entirely lose the communication with us, I think it has been a strength and a better benefit to both sides users and producers the last 2 years.

Absolutely, hopefully we can get a bit of participation here as well.

It's only natural that at certain times of the year, they can't be as involved with message boards. Indeed, I'm sure if they continued to be frequently active throughout the year they would be accused of spending all their time posting about the games and not actually working on them, even though it would be highly unlikely that their posting would actually interfere with the daily work.

I think the time for the producers to directly participate with the communities are when they are in planning stage for next year's version of the game, after the demo is released & after the game is released for patch purposes. That is it. Of course I'd like to see ongoing communication between community leaders like Andrew and the producers, but that can be out of the public eye. IMHO guys like Andrew can & should provide feedback on the community's "pulse".

Absolutely; I agree wholeheartedly. (Y)

I remember during Live 09 development producers were asking us on public forums how often we would like to see certain circumstances or actions I have no issue with that or similar situations during early stages in development.

So long as we have the opportunity to provide feedback at times when it can be put to use and the lines of communication remain open for patches and the like, it's a mutually beneficial situation.
