boxing-out

When the shooter releases the ball press the triangle button ( PS3 ) then the rebounder will box the opponent out and automatically jump for the rebound

you also need to be near an opposing player too

i really didnt like this when i played the game...

I don't mind the approach but I have to admit sometimes I find myself jumping when I want to just box out.

I feel like as much as I box out, someone like Tim Duncan or Yao Ming will just get the offensive board anyway

i'm not sure, but you don't have to press anythign to box out. you need the position and cpu does it for you. The only thing you do is time the jump FROM the boxing out. like in the drills of the academy. I rarely box out in games on purpose.

It isn't necessary, but holding the Y button allows you to box out and then automatically jump for the rebound. Automatically boxing out and then pressing Y to jump for the rebound seems to work fine, though.
