Welcome to the official support thread for v1.05 of the current roster update for NBA Live 08.

A new version (v1.05) of the NLSC Current Roster Update for NBA Live 08 is now available to download here.

Key features of v1.05:
- 2007/2008 Season Rosters accurate as of 20/04/08
- Player ratings updated for more realistic performance
- Primacy ratings updated for better shot distribution
- Player positions and data updated/corrected
- Cyberfaces and portraits for missing players

Release Notes

• As noted above, the rosters are accurate as of April 20th, 2008 with all missing players added and lineups accurate as of the first two days of the Playoffs (or in the case of lottery teams, lineups from the last week of the regular season).
  
• Due to Miami currently having seventeen players on their roster due to injury exceptions and NBA Live 08 only allowing fifteen players on a roster, Blake Ahearn has been left in the Free Agent pool and Alonzo Mourning has been moved to the Free Agent pool while Kasib Powell and Stephane Lasme are now on Miami's roster.
  
  I decided to do this as Lasme started the last few games for the Heat and Mourning is out for the season, likely to retire and in the final year of his contract. Note however that in the Uninjured version of the roster, Mourning is back on the Heat's roster. It's not a perfect solution but the best that can be done given what the game supports.
  
• I'm still deciding what I'll do as far as updates throughout the Playoffs. In any case, a final season update will come shortly after the NBA Finals and then offseason updates will begin following the NBA Draft.

Can you be a bit more specific than that? There's over 400 players in the database, which is why these things go unnoticed in ths first place.

No, he doesn't. I've checked v1.05 and his primary position is definitely centre with power forward as his secondary position. It is displayed correctly in the game and the values in the database are correct. If that's happening for you, then the problem lies elsewhere, not with the NLSC roster.

Possibly, though I already updated the SEED values in v1.05 and tried copying the teams.dbf file to the database folders but it didn't work. It looks like it's no longer possible, at least using the traditional method. I'll have another look at it but based on what I've tried so far, I don't think it's possible this year. The ability to mod some of those finer details have been lost over the years.

No, the patch will not work with NBA Live 06. It is for NBA Live 08 PC only.

why did you delete gary payton and jasikevicius in the free agents list? i need gary payton because i want the 06 championship team miami heat.

I cleaned up the Free Agent pool, removing players unlikely to return to the NBA from the active rosters. If you want to add those players again they are still in the database. You just need to locate them (searching in the NAME field is as good a method as any) and then change their TEAM from 32 back to 50.

I just told you how in the previous post. Search in the NAME field (Control-F or the menu option).

You'll need to open players.dbf in DB Commander and perform a search for Payton in the NAME column. Mind you, Gary Payton's near the top of the database so you can probably just scroll down until you find him, then scroll across and change his TEAM attribute from 32 to 50.

No problem. You can do the same for anyone I've removed from the Free Agent pool, they're still in the database. You can also do a search in the TEAM column for 32, though you'll also find players that I've removed from the All-Star teams.

Sorry, it's against Forum rules to ask for serial codes. You don't need one anyway, DB Commander remains functional after the trial period except for some of the more advanced features which you don't need for basic editing.

So could it be all possible to add all these custom teams to v1.06? However if v1.06 is at near completion and almost ready to be released,

I don't have any plans to add these teams to the rosters, though v1.06 probably won't be coming out until after the Draft. If I had some appropriate art for those teams I might consider it but I can't promise anything.

I'm thinking why won't you use artwork from existing teams (just like you used the current team USA artwork for the Dream Teams)? I can suggest that you can use the team adidas artwork if you like. What do you think?

I'd prefer not to, as none of the existing art is particularly appropriate. The current Team USA art isn't 100% accurate for Dream Team I and III but in the absence of accurate jerseys it's close enough.

Sure, you can edit that in appearance.dbf. I must have overlooked that when I was adding him to Italy's roster, I've gone ahead and fixed it while I think about it. Thanks for the heads up.

If you'd like to fix it yourself in the meantime, open appearance.dbf and search under the APPEARID column for 3185 (or just scroll to the bottom of the database and locate the row with 3185 as the APPEARID). Change HEIGHT to 84 and WEIGHT to 250.

the only problem is that some players like the rookies have mask, but nonetheless its fine...

That should only happen if the faces are not installed properly. Check out Faces Troubleshooting.txt for more info on how to fix that.

andrew, in my dynasty, sonics' coach doesn't have CF and some players too like c.watson.. i installed my game on C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA LIVE 08.. how can this happen man?

It means the art wasn't installed properly. Check Faces Troubleshooting.txt.
