Free Agents In Dynasty Mode

Can someone tell me how to get a free agent in dynasty mode? I've tried many times to get a free agent, but they will decline everytime (not including cap space). What am I supposed to do? Go above what the free agent wants, or down? Or years?

Did you offer them a salary close to what they want? What about the number of years which they are asking?

If you're offer them exactly what they want they'll sign more often than not. If they don't want to sign you should usually look at offering more money, for the exact amount of years they're looking to sign for.

If you want to sign them to a lesser number of years, you've to be prepared to entice them with a higher amount...

True, though some players will still refuse the offer if they're adamant about signing a longer contract.
