Richardson, Tabuse leads Bobcats over Toronto
Image

Rookies OJ Mayo and Darrell Arthur didn't exactly impressed in their debut game as a Charlotte Bobcat, but one Bobcat played amazingly in his "debut", the debut as a starter. Larry Brown decided to put Yuta Tabuse in the starting lineup just a few hours before the opening tip in Toronto, replacing rookie DJ Augustin with him, and he did not disappoint Brown one bit; shooting 4 of 7, and having a 16 to 1 assist to turnover ratio in 20 minutes of play, Tabuse ran the offense like a Jason Kidd or Steve Nash would, finding open looks for them where ever possible, and sometimes made the impossible happen; as a result, the Bobcats recovered from a bad start in the first quarter, when they were getting a feel for the new lineup, which included newcomer OJ Mayo, and bounced back and outplayed the Raptors in the next 3 quarters.

Richardson led the way for the Bobcats with 25 points, followed by O'Neal, Okafor, and Mayo, who had 16 each, but while O'Neal and Okafor shot 8 of 10 and 7 of 10 from the field respectively, it took Mayo 20 shot attempts as he went 7 of 20 from the field and 0 of 3 from beyond the arc, he did, however, managed to do a good job on the defensive end, limiting Anthony Parker to take just 8 shots in the game and hitting only 3 of them. O'Neal and Okafor had a great game defensively, getting 4 and 3 blocks respectively.

For the Raptors, Solomon led the way off the bench with 18 points, and Jermaine O'Neal had a decent game with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Calderon had 16 points and 6 assists, but had 6 turnovers and was in foul trouble all game thanks to Tabuse and Augustin drawing charges.

Charlotte's Bench did a decent job, Matt Carroll led the bench mob with 13 points, followed by newcomer Darrell Arthur, who had 9 points and 4 rebound, but shot just 3 of 12 from the field and had 5 turnovers.

Larry Brown said after the game that while overall he was pleased at the effort and outcome, he was still worried about the bench depth.
"Well, the guys played hard, and played good, Matt did a nice job shooting the ball, DJ ran them well, but the thing is, we are lacking a go to guy in our 2nd unit, Matt is the best offensive guy and he cant create his own shots, other then that it's fine, obviously the new guys need some time to adjust, and their shots (Mayo's 7-20 and Arthur's 3-12) would get better when they get used to our offense" said Brown

Richardson's 3 and Tabuse's tough shot helped the Bobcats pull away late in the 4th quarter

Key Factors
- Effectiveness of Shaq and Emeka
Image Image
Look for the Bobcats to throw the ball into the paint about 70% of the time, Shaq and Emeka are capable of dominating the short and weak Chicago Frontcourt, action in the paint would be a huge factor in deciding the game.

-Perimeter Defense
Image Image
Stopping Number 1 Overall Pick Derrick Rose and former 6th man of the year Ben Gordon would be atough, but necessary task for Larry Brown's team if they want to win.

- Former GM's performance
Saturday Night is when we all get a look at what this guy is all about, its the time to see what aspect of his game allowed Larry Brown and Michael Jordan to sign and let him play? and as a starter as well?

Tabuse leads Bobcats to Blowout in Chicago
Image

Japanese Star Point Guard Yuta Tabuse had a career high 20 assists, as well as 8 points, 3 steals, and a rebound on Saturday night as he and the rest of the Charlotte Bobcats easily dismantle the Chicago Bulls in the United Center, Chicago.

The game was also the nba debut for former Bobcats GM Leo, who started alongside Tabuse in the backcourt, and scored 14 points, 2 steals and 2 assists in just 13 minutes of play, going 4 for 6 from the field, 3 of 4 from 3 point range, and 3 of 4 from the Free Throw line.

The Bobcats came out ready to play, as they started the game off with a 11-0 run, and maintained that 11 point lead till the end of the first, Chicago never led in this game, but they did reduce the lead to as little as 8 points early in the 3rd quarter, led by rookie Derrick Rose, who had 27 points, 10 assists, 2 steals and 2 rebounds, but also had 10 turnovers; Ben Gordon had a solid game, scoring 22 points from 10 of 22 shooting, but was unable to lead the Bulls past the determined Bobcats.

The Bobcats were led by Jason Richardson's game high 29 points, followed closely by rookie OJ Mayo's 22 off the bench. Darrell Arthur, who was acquired alongside Mayo, had a big impact on the game with his offensive rebounding, he collected a total of 12 rebounds in just 17 minutes of play, and dropped in 5 points himself.

Charlotte did a great job of defending the Bulls, as they limited them to just 75 shots in this contest, and a total of 91 points for the game, they caused 20 turnovers and seized those opportunities and converted a lot of baskets with fast breaks, and ended up with a total score of 120, shooting a great FG percentage of 55%.

Tabuse said after the game that the game was one of the best games he has ever played, and also said that he was unaware of the amount of assists that he was getting until Larry Brown told him after the game.
"I didn't really keep check of it myself, i was just trying my hardest to find the open man and pass it to him, we ran a lot of fast breaks, maybe that is why i had this many assists" said Tabuse, who had at least 9 assists obtained from alley opp passes while on a fast break.

Charlotte is now 9-7 and has a win streak of 3.

Bobcats Unable to Continue Win Streak against Cavs as King James goes for 36
Image

LeBron James was forced to be mostly a jump-shooter and was limited to only 17 shot attempts on Saturday night in the Time Warner Cable Arena, but the problem was, he made 15 of those 17 shots, including 5 three pointers, and ended the game with 36 points to lead his Cavaliers to win over the Charlotte Bobcats, 100 to 87.

Bobcats Head Coach Larry Brown said after the game that it wasn't the Defensive side he was unhappy about, but rather the offensive execution and shot selections in this game. "Defensively i thought they did a decent job, they stuck to the game plan and limited LeBron's shots and made him mostly a shooter instead of driving to the rim, but when someone gets hot like that, there's nothing we, or anyone else, could have done; What i am concerned about is the poor shot selection and offensive execution that the guys had in this game, we settled for long range jumpers instead of pushing the tempo and getting the ball inside, getting to the line, we didn't exactly shoot well because of that (.440 fg, .320 3pt) and i just think that we would have had a chance in this game if the guys drove more and got to the line more." said Larry Brown after the game.

Jason Richardson led the Bobcats with 20 points, but it took him 18 shots to do so, O'Neal followed with 19 points and 8 rebounds, and was one of the players that Brown was happy with, rookie OJ Mayo had just 11 points on 4 of 15 shooting off the bench.
For the Cavs, LeBron led all scorers with 36 points, and grabbed 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals to go along with that, Mo Williams had a near Triple Double Performance, with 25 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, but had 10 turnovers thanks to Tabuse and Augustin's tough defense.

Despite the loss, Shaq seemed optimistic about the team's status in this season. "Well, i think we are in good shape, we dropped to the Cavs, LeBron got hot, you cant stop that guy, but the main thing is, we are looking good (5W streak before this loss) and we have a positive record (11-9), i think we can make the playoffs and possibly look to go deep this year, with this amount of talent on the team, and of course, with me on the team. I would say, that in 1 or 2 years, we can go all the way, i said it, so you better remember it" said Shaq after the game.

ok, Yuta Tabuse is a good player, DJ Augustin is a good player, but no way in anyone's mind would they think that those 2 could contain CP3, but thats just what they'll have to do on Friday Night as the Bobcats take on CP3 and the Hornets...
As of now, CP3 is averaging 23.1ppg, 3 rpg, 8.2 apg, 2.29spg, 1.5bpg(leads team in all except rebounding....)
